That's obviously a poor scenario for getting any compensation. But when the driver or store forgot my shake, and I called the store and the manager said that there was nothing he could do (and blamed the driver for not taking it), I had no way to complain to DD since I did not place the order through them. If I had ordered through DD, I'm sure that I would have gotten some credit for them. Also, if your order arrives after the time estimate, I believe that Uber Eats automatically gives you $5 towards a future order. More if you complain to them, as they did in a particularly bad case where the driver took like 30 minutes to pick up the order after having it assigned to them.@wrosie wrote:
And I did a delivery shop last month that defaulted to the wrong store. I called the 800 number immediately and cancelled the order.
The order was delivered from the wrong store and I still got credit back on my card. How can you complain about that.
That's not correct. When placing the order through the app or a 3rd party service, it shows you what location you are ordering from. It's not in a big font, but it's definitely there. FG does not give you a choice of location to order from, but the 3rd party services do since you select the specific restaurant location. Worst case, you change to pickup and apps like DD and UE will tell you the location you'll need to go to.@wrosie wrote:
You can accept a shop for a specific location, but until you place the order and get the email you don't know which shop is filling your order if you're equidistant from both stores.
My point was also that using the FG app, it showed me where the delivery was coming from when I gave it my address. Are you saying that they changed it from what you saw after submitting the order?@wrosie wrote:
Mister Bill,
As I've noted I haven't used 3rd party apps. Dictating which location you get delivered from might just be a reason to use them.

I keep getting special Sam email offers, but when I click the link, the fee doesn't match. No thanks, that's sneaky!
Presumably they mean clicking on the link in the new format email. I think it doesn't show the advertised rate but hopefully if you accept it that way, you get the correct rate.@myst4au wrote:
The fee on Sam emails only applies if you respond by email with the date or dates you are willing to do the shop. Going to the website and finding the shop will often result in seeing a different fee. Usually, the fee if you accept it directly is a dollar or two lower, but the upside is that you know that you have the shop. Sometimes the fee on the website is actually higher. BUT - my main point is that you are not following the directions in the Sam email, so you shouldn't be surprised if the fee is different@nawillard wrote:

I've never received self-assign emails. I've only received Samantha, which is not self-assign.@weatherman2111 wrote:
Is anyone else no longer receiving the self-assign emails with higher shop fees, or is it just me?
I've never done one, but I'm sure it's to make sure that they aren't shutting down early and doing exactly what you described. They get paid for the time that they're working, so while they might want to leave, they are committed to be there and leaving early would cost them money@BabyBooey19 wrote:
On FIVE GUYS.....has anyone done the "Late Dinner" shops.....whre you are to go 30 minutes before closing, and do dine-in? I've never done one. Wondering, do you get stink-eye from the crew when you order or even when you are sitting in the dining room when they probably want to. go home? I wonder if they know it's. shopper...someone just waltzes in 30 mins before close, orders a burger and pauses.....gotta be a giveaway.
I've done them. The staffs have always been pretty good about going about their business and not giving me any trouble. As mentioned, they're usually still getting takeout orders at that hour so that keeps them busy. I suspect they know I'm a shopper but none of them have ever called me on it or anything.@BabyBooey19 wrote:

The 15 minutes is after you get your food, I believe. And I have not seen a late dinner that isn't dine-in.@BabyBooey19 wrote:
The one I'm eye'ing is late dinner....but also dine in. Meaning order by (9:32.....get food 9:37...... check bathrooms...... if I leave at 9:55 that would be 23 minute visit, the guidelines say 15....so I guess that works out. Just dont want to feel awkward with crew sitting there staring at me, mind you I'd be out 5 minutes before official closing.
Someone has screwed up, and the late dinner shops have the MAO flag but are only priced at $12. They may even be left over from last week, since I see a lunch and regular dinner shop available for this week. The dinner shop is at $25, but no MAO. Lunch at $25 with MAO. Gotta love their consistency.@myst4au wrote:
The pay has to be high enough to induce me to do these.
It's rare for them to accept an MAO for that amount so early in the week. I had a similar $30 offer rejected on Sunday a couple of weeks ago, and when I went back to look for it again someone had also taken it. I did get two phone calls today for different locations, but they were both dinner shops so I said no. The lunch shops had already been taken, which was too bad since I will be near one of them at lunchtime on Tuesday.@wrosie wrote:
Saw a MAO Thursday for 1-3 Dec. It was at $17. I offered my usual $30 and it wasn't accepted.
Apparently someone took it for less as it's gone.
End-of-year / holiday shoppers may be taking the shops at lower fees?@KokoBWare wrote:
Is anyone finding they're being really hard-assed on the MAOs lately? There's one hard-to-fill location where I've usually gotten $35-$40. I got into the MAO back and forth with them and even went as far down as $29 because I had other work in the area. They dug in their heels at $20 and wouldn't budge, so I gave up. Now at another hard-to-fill they're offering $20 with MAO and they just shot me down at $30. I guess I won't be doing 5G anymore for a while. I guess that MAO button is just for sport.
