FIVE GUYS IS BACK!!

I have had the exact same issue around here, with previously hard-to-fill shops gone by Thursday night, when fees reach $20. I used to do 5G shops twice a week, but currently haven't done one in 16 days. My minimum price on these is $22. Seems a little odd that we are all having the same experience...think there may be something going on, on the scheduling end?
They sent emails to their movie portal shoppers a few months ago advertising the FG shops. Maybe they also advertised elsewhere. I think that the increased pool of shoppers and the higher reimbursement is making the shops more attractive, so they don't stick around. I don't take them for less than $25. Once I do, they'll hold it against me the next time I try to get a shop.

At least I probably won't get a 1099 from them this year, the way things are going. And I'm eating less unhealthy food (although I do get the veggie sandwich)

Around here, the two locations start at $10 and $5 for delivery. Usually I'll see them get up into the $20-25 range and I've gotten $30 MAO. I was also able to come in right at the old reimbursement here, with a small burger, perhaps $0.25 over or so.

Last go around once they got to $18, they reset to $10. I don't think it's necessarily new shoppers taking the shops, but the MSC removing them from the job board.

There is a shop sitting at the opening $10 and I've been getting Samantha offers for $15 the last three days.

I think they are just trying to reset the shop price point downward. Just my opinion.

That is not what I am seeing. This week's shop gets taken, and it's next week's shop that I am seeing for $10. Of course, it could also be that someone takes the shop, drops it, and it shows up again at the starting price, but once again that has not been my experience; it reappears at the higher price.
I got one Sunday for $25 that someone must have flaked on. The first one I've done in over a month. Most of them are not getting to $15 before they disappear, and $20 is my rock bottom price with $25 my preferred minimum. I can't remember the last time I saw a MAO.
Just got a call from the foreign scheduler for a dinner shop they still have available. She offered me $20. Didn't take it since it's too far. Just logged in and it's being offered at $35. Amazing.
I just got on online order shop that was at $18 MAO for $30. I was shocked they accepted it so quickly. It's for Friday.

The MAO I accepted today the great MAO flag was kind of hidden behind the amount. In other words, not visible like in the past, just a tinge of green. Once I clicked on the shop I could very plainly see it.
Thanks. I'll have to look for that.

Got lucky and picked up a $30 lunch for today. It was showing in the Hot Shops when I logged in, I never would have looked otherwise since it's not a location I normally shop, but was going to be in the area today. I had checked for a shop last week when I took the other shop and nothing was available, so someone must have flaked. No MAO, but at $30 when I'm already going to be in the area, I wasn't going to take a chance on not getting it.

We are not allowed by Forum rules and by our agreements with the MSCs to tell you which company shops 5G. I will tell you that it is among the top 10 most discussed MSC in the official list below. Not all of those companies still exist, but this is among those that do.

This week's shops are on MAO. I put in for $30 for the location I've gotten that for recently.

Update - got my $30.

Anyone having Five-Guys scheduling quirk? There's a few bonuses FG in my area- I'd be willing to do one. Dates say 5/5-5/7. But the drop down menu only allows me 5/5 and 5/6. I'd have taken the 5/7.

It's not a quirk. They only allow one shop a day at each location. Someone must have taken another shop for that date. I'm in a similar situation, I would do the dinner shop at a location that I'll be near on Sunday, but that date is not available. The person who took the lunch shop must be going then. It pays to keep checking, since the other shopper might reschedule.

Another reminder that if a scheduler calls you for a shop, you need to check the current price online before accepting. I got a call a few minutes ago for a shop at my local FG, which I hadn't seen available yesterday. She offered my usual $25, and i asked if I could get more, and she said that was all she could offer. I logged in to see if the other shop in my area had opened up and was surprised to see that the shop she was offering $25 for was $30 on the site! Fortunately, she had not assigned it yet, so I told her I wanted $30. She told me that all she could offer was $25, and I should just take it online. I told her I would do that and hung up, only to find that I could not self-assign because it was still locked by her. So I had to call back, and she asked her supervisor and gave it to me for $30. Why she didn't offer to do this originally, I don't know. It's really not right that their system even allows them to do stuff like this.

Update -- and then I noticed that i got a Samantha offer for $31 right after taking the shop for $30. But of course that would not have gotten scheduled immediately, so i would have gone for the $30 sure thing.

I posted but it's in moderation for some reason. Shorter version: got a call for my local FG for $25. Checked online and it was $30! And I just got a Samantha offer for $31 (but already took it for $30).

Holy smokes, just did a Five Guys shop for the first time in a while. Little CB, little fries and regular drink are now $19.01 in my area. Reimbursement recently went up to 17.25 and even that is now out of date.

Just went back and looked at my first shop at Five Guys back in November 2020 - total was 14.69 for the same items that are now 19.01.

My recollection (I have not gone back to check my records) is that when I started doing 5G in 2009 or 2010, that the reimbursement of $8.50 covered a full hamburger, small fries, and a small drink.

I received a few offers overnight - I would normally grab these at this price but since they still have that little note in their contract about requiring $50 before a payment will be sent, I'm not sure I want to pick them up.

Huh? I've never heard of that. Where are you seeing it? BTW, the offers they sent out for the coming week's shops were for small raises. You need to wait until Thursday for better offers.
I screwed up today and left my house too late for a $30 lunch shop. Ended up hitting traffic and arrived five minutes too late for lunch. I had to be in the area for a sit down dinner shop, so it was not a wasted trip, but now I have to go back (I already dropped a shop at this location once and do not want to do it again). But all is not lost, I picked up a $90 Kia shop right down the road from FG. So it's worth going back.
@MisterBill

Isn't lunch until 3:45? How do you not make that in time. That's late in the day. I get if you were doing a route and fell behind...but being home and leaving late doesn't make sense to me. I guess if you were watching kids and waiting for spouse or relative to come and relieve you...that might cause a problem.

Because we weren't planning to have dinner until 5:30 or so, and I didn't want to have to kill that much time between FG and my dinner shop. So I had planned to get there around 3:30. Then I hit traffic, but the problems started when took an alternate route because a dump truck was driving in front of me and I didn't feel like going slowly in back of him on a windy one-lane road. And Google Maps let me down, did not suggest staying off the highway to avoid traffic. Just a cascading of bad luck.

It was all my fault, I should have just left earlier.

That's fine. I wasn't passing judgement...just not understanding how you couldn't make it by 3:45.

Were you planning on eating at both places or you were just doing the 5g for the pure $$$ and save the food or give to a homeless person? I don't like to pick up both lunch and dinner shops on the same day unless i plan on not eating one of them or feeding one person at the first place and feeding the other person at the 2nd place.

That's one thing I like about Panda and Sonic...no real time constraints for a specific meal period.

Was planning to take the FG home for the next day. This location is 30+ minutes from my house (40+ yesterday), so I figured I'd save a separate trip for the FG and do it when I was already over there. The dinner shop was a last 30 minutes deal, so that wasn't going to work.

Did they fix the rotation issue with delivery shops blocking in-person shops? My local delivery shop just showed up, I am out of rotation for an in-person hop since I just did it this week. So I'm thinking it as fixed. But I have a delivery shop scheduled near my daughter's house, which I never do normally (we'll be there tomorrow), and none of the in-person shops for that location are showing up to schedule. Perhaps I'll wait until i submit it tomorrow to see if the other shops show up again. Probably also pays for the fee to go up, although it is the shake shop this month.

I'm not going to take it if it causes the in-person shops to get hidden for over a month, as it has in the past, since I get $25+ for them.

Edit: the in-person shops did not reappear for the location where I did the delivery shop after submitting it. So I think I will pass on my local delivery shop.

I took a $25 online order shop yesterday. I waited 9 minutes at the counter before any of the crew members even made eye contact and a total of 27.5 minutes to wait for my order. I took the online order so I wouldn't have to eat in but I might reconsider the same offer next time based on my experience yesterday.

That's odd. My order is usually ready when I get there, except for the fries. Did you go to the register to tell them that you were there? It doesn't have to be at the pickup station.
I thought about it, but the guidelines do say go to the pick up counter. They literally called out and handed orders to guests and flat out ignores me. It was 4:30pm on a Friday and I will admit they were busy, but not so busy to wait 9 minutes before acknowledging me or almost 30 minutes for me to get my order. I could almost sit down, order and eat at Red Robin in that amount of time and probably for cheaper as well.

They normally greet me at the cashier station when I'm there for a pickup order and get my name, but when they don't, I tell whoever is at pickup that I am waiting for my order if I see someone there. They're not expected to greet you if you are just standing there, since they have no idea if you're just waiting for your order that was placed at the counter.

Also, they called out the orders that had checked in or were ordered at the register. They didn't call you because they didn't know that you were there, and you didn't make an effort to tell them. They do not prepare your fries until they know that you're there. Hopefully they don't reject your shop because of that.
