If you don't take it immediately, there will probably be a better offer (unless someone else takes the shop). But if you're going to be there anyway and the price is right, it might pay to take it now.@FineAndDandy wrote:
Been doing these shops for a few years now, and just received my first "Samantha" offer. It was for a location that I had only shopped once before because it only makes sense to do if in downtown already. Ironically enough the dates listed on the "Samantha" offer fall within dates I was planning to be in the vicinity for a different event. Might just take them up on the offer.
Veggie sandwich is definitely allowed. It's basically a burger without the patty. You can add any and all veggies that you want. Default is lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, mushrooms and green pepper. I do extra mushrooms, jalapeños instead of green peppers, and hot sauce. And pickles on the side. Very tasty (at least I think so).@dawnhu wrote:
I might start picking these up again..but have started a diet..maybe you all have mentioned it but is there a way for them to accomodate think I saw something about a veggie sandwich? Whats in that and any idea if they still allow for it

Has anyone else noticed that the shake shops seem to be gone? The delivery shops haven't had one recently, and the in-restaurant shops for the next month (for the locations I'm in rotation for) don't have anything other than $15.45 reimbursement.
Yes, I did one shop this week and the veggie sandwich, little fries and regular drink was $15.21.@tigerdave wrote:

And not to mention, it's about the only thing you can buy these days to stay within the reimbursement allowance!

I don't follow the shop posting history of the shake scenario, but I do see some here in Southern California. Maybe it's a targeted approach instead of blanketing all locations. I don't really know, nor do I care, but I do see some, so obviously the scenario is still being shopped. Just maybe not at the same frequency or locations.

If you're just concerned with calorie count, the veggie sandwich is the lowest, but not by much, and I think that overall, the burger in a bowl is the healthiest thing you can get at Five Guys. Unless you're like my husband and son, who say that a burger isn't a burger without the bun! They laugh at me.
Be sure to let us know what changes.@HonnyBrown wrote:
The location I did today will go through a 10 day remodel starting tomorrow. I wonder if other locations will follow suit.

I've become a fan of a lettuce-wrapped burger. It has extra crunch without any calories.

I just had the strangest thing happen. A Five Guys shop near me that's always hard to fill and almost always goes to MAO status showed up yesterday at $30, with MAO. So, naturally, I made an offer of $1 more than the listed fee. Usually that will go through. I'd have been happy with $30, but why put it on MAO if you're not willing to pay more?
Anyway, I log in today and see that my offer was declined and that the fee is now listed at $25, with MAO. So I made another offer. We'll see if it gets accepted. ...
@HonnyBrown wrote:
I don't bother with MAO any more. My scheduler always gives me a better fee.
I've seen it once when it was a past due shop. But if I ever saw it posted for that price, I'd take it immediately and not mess around with an MAO for a dollar more. Because once you get that price, you can ask for it going forward.@BirdyC wrote:
I really think the $30 posted fee with MAO was a mistake. I've never seen a base fee that high for that location. I sometimes used to get over $40 for it, back that was back in the "good-old days." No more.

Good point. I wonder what would have happened if I'd just taken it at $30. Would they have come back to me and tried to get me to take a lower fee by saying the posting was a mistake? I don't think they could do that. I offered $1 more because I've found that will always get you the job (assuming the increased base fee was acceptable). If I see that again, I'll just take it!
