I truly wonder where they were. I used to compare prices at McD and BK as I traveled the world. Prices were the highest (of the places I went) in Geneva, Switzerland, usually about 50% higher than the prices in Delaware.
I just priced two bacon cheeseburgers, 2 large fries, and 2 large drinks at my closest Five Guys (the most expensive in my area) and the total was $44.18 before sales tax and $47.11 after our 6.625% sales tax.
I just checked, and there are 3 Five Guys in Geneva. Adding 50% would get my order to $66, so close to $70. I just checked Uber Eats In Geneva. A Bacon Cheeseburger is $21, there is only one size of fries at $9.00, and one size of drink at $4.90. So, using Uber Eats, the order would total $69.80. Uber Eats always charges higher prices, but I could not find an actual Five Guys price list for Geneva without supplying a local address.
So, where would I expect prices to be the highest in the US? How about Times Square? Those prices turn out to be Bacon Cheeseburger at $12.29, Lrge Fries at $7.59, and large drink at $3.59 amounting to $46.94 before sales tax, which is surprisingly (to me) close to my local Five Guys price. Total taxes in NYC are an additional 8.875%.
