FIVE GUYS IS BACK!!

$40 would be nice, but it's hit or miss. $25 is guaranteed.

But I don't care if I don't get the shop this week, since I don't really want to do an in-person dinner. Worst case, if someone takes next week's dinner, I'm sure that the lunch will be available.

Related topic, I'm going to have an interesting discussion this week when they call me for the other location in my area, which I'm also back in rotation for. I got $35 for it last time because it was a leftover shop when I went back into rotation for it.

When I asked for more on the location discussed above, the scheduler told me that she saw my previous shops, and I'd only gotten $25. Wonder what she'll do when I ask for $35 for the one I got $35 for last time? Another reason to hold out for more on the current shop.

weird, next weekend's shops already at "Changed fee!" for $15...
Wow! That IS strange. And they had already sent out the Samantha emails today.

Someone took the diner shop near me, so I won't be getting $40 for it. I guess I should have tried making the offer.

Disappointing start on my end. Shop was returned invalidated days later as I put down 1/4/2022 instead of 1/4/2023. The hilarious part about it is how systemically and black & white this MSC is, especially when there’s significant proof that the shop was technically valid and non-fraudulent. I guess I’ll just write off the miles and $17 I spent for the shop and move on.
I can't believe that their system even let you submit it with the wrong date. It should have immediately flagged it and not let you continue once the wrong date was entered unless you fixed it (same as it does if you ordered the wrong way). In fact, there's a new page that they added for some shops where it makes you verify the date that you entered. I'm always worried that I did the shop on the wrong date when that pops up. Seems like it's coded wrong and should ONLY (and ALWAYS) pop up when you're submitting a shop for the wrong date.

Their system has always been extremely rigid. For whatever reason they do not have it set up to go back and fix a bad date. They are the only ones I've ever worked for who do it this way. It is very weird and frustrating at times.
I gave my 5Guys low scores today. I asked for a grilled cheese with tomatoes. I received a cheese and tomato sandwich. Twice. The manager did not know how to process a refund, so I had to report the shop.

Not know how to do a refund? OMG. And apparently they don't know how to make a grilled cheese, either. Sad.

I just noticed the shops for 1/19-1/22 in my area are listed at $12 instead of the normal $10 starting rate. I'm assuming they're gradually updating all of the future shops to these new rates. I wish they had increased the reimbursement $2 instead.
Yes, They just raised them to $12 from $10. The ones for 1/12 just went to $18 before they are opened to MAO.

I just think they bumped the shop fee up $2 for some shops. Some of mine were $10 yesterday and are $12 or $18 today. I didn't study it but I think it differed by lunch, dinner or late night.

And I agree with everyone else. Bump the reimbursement by $2 to $17.45 and or, as some MSCs do, make it reimbursement for a small burger, fries and drink.
Surprisingly, my shop was approved.

What did they give you? A veggie sandwich with unmelted cheese on it? Was it rung up as a grilled cheese? I've never had problems getting a grilled cheese with veggies on it.
I made an offer of $35 for a lunch shop at a location that I usually get $25 for, but had gotten $35 on my last shop because it was a last minute shop. The rejected it and made a counter-offer of $25, which is what it's currently posted at. Maybe I should make another offer for $30 and see if they take it. They'd called me yesterday and also offered me $25, said they could not go any higher.

Today's update. The scheduler called agreed to give me $30 for the above shop, so I took it. Probably should have asked for $35.

Then the strangest thing happened. The US scheduler called me for a FG that I'm apparently back in rotation for NEXT WEEK. I asked if I could get the same thing I got last time, and she agreed to put in a request for $30, and it got approved! I've never had them call me for a shop the following week, and certainly not at that price. Anyone else have this happen?

This month's delivery shops are up to $10. Next month's delivery shops are posted and have a shake.

I love it when you get to order a shake. Makes it much easier to use the Five Guys app and get over the minimum $15 without paying a ton out of pocket.

True. Otherwise, you need to use a third party app and the prices can be higher. I actually took the shop for $5.
I ordered a grilled cheese with tomatoes and onions. I received a tomato and cheese sandwich. The cheese was not melted. I asked them to make it again. Same result. It was rung up as a grilled cheese.

I asked for a refund for my entire order. The manager did not know how to do a refund. He had to get a reference book from the back. He still could not do a return.

Was the bread also not toasted? I wonder what it was about "grilled" that they didn't understand! That's ridiculous. I order my grilled cheese with tomato, but have never tried it with onions; sounds good. Think I'll try that next time.

It's one of my regular sandwiches. The bread, which is cut, is toasted. I'm getting one today.

I’ve found that not all locations know how to do the grilled cheese. The ones that do will toast the inside of the buns, and the untoasted sides face inward. Looks similar to a patty melt. My son orders a grilled cheese with two patties and extra bacon. It’s something else.

I frequently order the grilled cheese, and lately they have been asking how many patties I want on it. Apparently someone discovered that it's cheaper to get a grilled cheese with a patty than a regular cheeseburger, so that's become a lot more popular.

The "bread" is just a flipped bun with the inside part on the outside put on the griddle.

I always wondered what the difference between the grilled cheese with vegetables and the veggie sandwich with cheese was. Never considered that the latter would just have unmelted cheese on it. They're often a few cents different in price. But it's odd that there are locations that don't know how to do a grilled cheese, given that it's a menu item.

Not sure exactly, but I did order a veg sandwich once. It was a giant lump of very greasy veg stuff chopped into very small pieces with nothing to hold it together Never got another one.

That's odd. It's the same exact vegetable toppings you can get on your burger, but without the burger. Yes, the onions are diced, but they are on a burger as well. The mushrooms and peppers are sliced, not chopped. If you only get your burger with lettuce and tomato, maybe it would seem strange. Or maybe your FG did things differently.
Has anyone ever used a third-party delivery service coupon for a shop? The guidelines say "Are coupons allowed? YES, but only for the delivery company not Five Guys". I have a 50% off a $20 delivery order coupon from Uber Eats. I'd have to over-order to get to $20, maybe add a shake, but it would come out to less than if I didn't use the coupon and under the $15 max reimbursement. But would then tell me that they won't reimburse me for the shake? How would they even calculate it?

Interested in hearing if anyone has tried this and how it turned out.
I think the MSC means you can use a coupon to offset the delivery fees, not the actual food order itself.

I know several of the delivery services have coupons like first delivery free and so forth. However, if the MSC will reimburse up to $15 in delivery fees, I don't see the point in using these type coupons.

Now if you can apply it to your delivery and food charges, I'm not sure if the MSC would allow that. It will be interesting to see if anyone has experience with that.

The free delivery doesn't do anything for me, since I get cash back on my credit card so no incentive to pay less for delivery, and the $15 comfortably covers that and a decent tip.

I took this month's delivery shop since it was $10 and no one was taking it. It seems like I can get a burger, regular fries and drink, and it will come out to $15.05 before tax, so I can use their delivery service, and it will cost me ~$1 but at least I have the higher fee. If I order through a 3rd party, I'm over $16 even with a small fries. Yes, my local FG is cheaper than others I've seen.

I just remember all I tasted was basically slime and grease and it fell apart quickly. Without the cheese it was just bad.
