FIVE GUYS IS BACK!!

I will never, ever, never understand the way this MSC schedules. It can't possibly be the most profitable way for them to do things.

They offered me $6.00 today ???? and I said no. And they countered at $18.00 which I should’ve said no to. Oh well.
$6? You can get more than that on the job board.

I laughed at her. Then she laughed. Then I said no. Is their system paying them the difference between their negotiations and our price? They offer $6? Hoping to get like $20 for the phone call?

Had my first FG screwup in a while this week, but it could have been much worse, as you'll see. I tried to get an online order lunch shop at a location 30+ minutes away because I had to be in the area for something else. I responded to the Samantha email offering $25, even though I usually get $30, because I needed to be there and had missed out on the previous week's shops. Someone else ended up getting the lunch shop, so I took the dinner once it went up to $25 on the website. It was a dine-in and came with a shake, which seemed like a decent deal until I realized that they charged $6.49 plus tax for the shake, so I was going to be out of pocket for that, in addition to not getting my usual $30 fee. Anyway, I forgot that it was a dinner shop and left my house too early to do my other stuff, and pulled into the parking lot at 2pm. I checked the app to make sure of the shop guidelines (which I didn't really need to do since I'd checked before leaving home), and fortunately I noticed the 4:15pm time before going in to place an order! Since I didn't have anything to do to kill two hours, and I couldn't go back today or tomorrow, I ended up cancelling the shop. At least I didn't discover my error after I'd ordered my meal.

Amusingly, they called me today to ask me to do the shop, still at $25, so obviously no hard feelings over my canceling it. Hopefully, my having taken this for $25 won't cause problems when I try to get the previously usual $30 in the future. I expect to get a Samantha email for that price.

They really need to fix Samantha to allow you to get the shop assigned immediately at the offered price. I really wanted the lunch shop I was offered since I was going to do that one and then head to another location closer to my house for an online order dinner shop that I already had. Because I didn't get the lunch shop, I had to do them on separate days, which complicates things for the other shop as well.

This weekend's shops (one shop, shoppers time choice) are still sitting at $18 and no MAO. I would have expected them to be making calls and taking offers already. Also, no Samantha offer since earlier in the week.

Yep, $18 in my area and only a few left. Thought they might have trouble filling them as it's Christmas weekend and they're not shopped on 12/24 (and, obviously, 12/25). But apparently not.

Several in my area are still available, and they're up to $25 with MAO. I put in for $30 on the location that I was supposed to have done this week. If they don't give it to me, I'm not going to take less.

Update - after posting this, I noticed that I had just received a Samantha offer of $30 for this location. So hopefully, one way or the other, I'll get my $30.

Update 2 - got my $30. I'm guessing it was from the MAO since Samantha isn't typically processed that quickly.

I am out of town and picked up a shop for the drive home for $25.

I got my first $40 5G shop in 6 years last week! I put in a MAO on a job that was up to $35 on the board, and it was accepted. Could've knocked me over with a feather that they took it! This is, on a good day, 40 minutes from me; on a bad one, 45. So the only time I've done that location was when I was in the area anyway on a small route. This time, I had had a shop in mind that was about 15 minutes in that direction, so I assigned that one ($30) on one for the same day, so at least I was part of the way there already.

That area seems to be begging for shoppers; many shops just sit and sit, get bonuses and still sit. I don't get it. It's not that the area very rural so that there aren't many shops. It's full of restaurants, mattress retailers, banks, gas stations, self-storage firms, etc.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

Very impressive! I guess I should have offered $40 instead of jumping on the $35 shop I took last week! Live and learn.

I suspect I won't see this again any time soon! $30 seems to be my max; I usually can't even get $35.

I got $40 for the FG ever. I'm excited. We are travelimg, so it's not in our normal area.
One of the schedulers called me last week with a dine in shop for $10 over my normal fee. I hope I don't forget the next time I do this location.

New screening question asking me to make every effort to not be identified or memorable. Ha! Even suggests wearing a hat!

How would a hat help? The restaurant has the exact and precise data they need from the report to find you on their video recordings.

Agreed! Plus I feel like a hat could amost make you MORE memorable.
I was brought up where men removed their hats when entering a building.

Haven't done a shop since these changed and my local FG that I am back in rotation for got taken for the week. Do they also suggest not ordering your sandwich with the same toppings each time, or anything like that?
I took a shop for a new to me location for $15. It's down the street from another shop that I am doing and near where I am doing my grocery shopping. I might go to the mall and get some steps in.

Disappointed to hear that you would take one for so little.

I just noticed that the shops that begin on Thursday are already up to $15. That's early for them. I'm holding out for at least $25, since next week there is an online order dinner shop that I would prefer to do.

I took it off the job board because the location is new to me. I will get it for $25 when the schedulers add it to my rotation.

The location is walking distance from another shop and a grocery store where I spend my profit.

The holiday shoppers have stripped all of the shops near me. I got one for Sunday.

Disappointing start on my end. Shop was returned invalidated days later as I put down 1/4/2022 instead of 1/4/2023. The hilarious part about it is how systemically and black & white this MSC is, especially when there’s significant proof that the shop was technically valid and non-fraudulent. I guess I’ll just write off the miles and $17 I spent for the shop and move on.

ETA: Had to retract my email back to these guess after they confirmed there was “nothing they can do.”

Had a moment of anger, but at the end of the day, I can unleash my anger back at the worker. Here’s the draft I retracted and just ended up trashing:

“Very disappointing to hear considering the shop was essentially valid and now out $15 plus time, and the report form from memory has historically wouldn’t let me proceed to the next page if the shop date didn’t match the shop date assigned.

Thank you for the response.”

Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.

Wasn't the receipt enough evidence of what is surely a common error this time of year?
@gukka wrote:

Of course. But the justification from them was the system automatically invalidates and was immediately assigned elsewhere. Plus the invalidation wasn’t provided by their system until a couple days later.

If you realized the error and contact them in time, they can re-validate it, but if someone else has already taken the re-posted shop you are out of luck. It is a problem that their "invalidated" emails don't come until days later, but if you check to see if your shops are accepted under the "receipt/status" page, it will show invalided immediately.

I have had issues with routes where I complete shops in different times zones on the same day. Therefore, the system will reject shops that appear to have been done at the same time, but were in different time zones. I just email the help desk immediately and they fix it.

I can't believe that their system even let you submit it with the wrong date. It should have immediately flagged it and not let you continue once the wrong date was entered unless you fixed it (same as it does if you ordered the wrong way). In fact, there's a new page that they added for some shops where it makes you verify the date that you entered. I'm always worried that I did the shop on the wrong date when that pops up. Seems like it's coded wrong and should ONLY (and ALWAYS) pop up when you're submitting a shop for the wrong date.

The dinner shop at my local FG is still available for this week. I've now had three calls (two today from different schedulers, one at 9:16am!) trying to get me to take it for $25, which is my usual price. But next week's dinner shop is an online shop, which I'd much prefer to take. So I am going to hold out for $35 if I do it this week. It's on MAO and on the Hot Shops list when you login, maybe I should ask for $40 smiling smiley.
