To the Msc's that lurk here..always have self assign as an option...

Being a reliable proven shopper does allow self-assign, however, if you break any of their rules (thinking of a specific MSC) they will take self-assign away until you again re-build their trust. Self assigning to a newbie doesn't make sense. Flakes will take experienced loyal shoppers jobs away and they'll have more inexperienced shoppers that don't understand the system. My vote is to self-assign when having maintained a 10 for at least 5 jobs. Some companies do want newbies because they'll work for less, good luck with that. Answering question about Customer Impact, they used to have self-assign, I no longer see it.

@luckygirl0100..I think 6 hours is plenty..
My personal preference would be under 3 hrs though if its a reliable shopper. As many have stated..many times we can add a couple of last minute shops if self assign was an option.

I’m happy with 24 hours for companies that don’t allow self assigning. Having shop applications hanging in pending status for several days is one of my pet peeves.

I don't want to assume anything, so I'll ask.... do you mean during 'business hours'?

I don't know if you realize but (at least for the Shopmetrics platform & I Secret Shop) schedulers don't get any type of notifications for pending applications. We have to log in and check this.

I put in quite a few hours but I don't work 24/7!

Just curious.....
What would you as a shopper consider a reasonable amount of time to be assigned (or declined/ application no longer in your application box)?

I know MY personal thoughts as a shopper but I'm curious as to others opinions. (I did assign a shopper a location within 6.5hrs of their application last week and was told that wasn't fast enough, the shopper no longer wanted the job)

I consider over 24 hours to be excessive.
Otherwise, I think in terms of the schedule having a 9-5 job. If I apply for a job at 7pm on a weekday, I don't expect a response until the next day in the morning. Though if I apply for it at 7am on a weekday, I am less tolerant of it going to 5pm and not being addressed.

So I don't have a set rule on what I feel is too long. I take into account that the schedule works a typical workday.
@luckygirl0100..yes I mean typical work hours..Monday through Friday 9 to 5pm..however it is understandable if you aren't logging in every single second of the day to check on pending apps

Having said that, I would expect a scheduler to be accessible at the very least by text and/ or email and be checking that every 2 to 3 hours even on the weekend. I know that sounds excessive, but there has been multiple shops, I've had to cancel due to waiting on pending apps.

I have also been able to shop multiple shops due to last minute availability and the only reason I was able to do so is because the scheduler is available by email and was able to give me a response within 2 to 6 hours.
