I am a scheduler, too, and have been scheduling since 1997. One representative I schedule often told me last week that she's a funeral director in her real life and she would rather embalm a body than do my job! But I love what I do, too and the people I meet (even if just by phone or e-mail) and the variety of jobs I get to work with.

Interesting interview! Nice to learn that the phone calls get taken care of first. In the future, I'm going to call if I want a plum.

Agreed on all points. For me, it also shows the worth of this contest.

In my case I haven't worked with Barbry or her company. They have very few shops in my area, but I recently applied for a hotel shop with her company. It would have been my first hotel shop as well and I said so in my application. Another shopper was chosen. A few days after a form rejection email Barbry sent a personal email saying she wanted to consider me but the fact I had never worked for her company was the deciding factor to give the shop to someone else. With this personal contact she helped build a bridge for future shops. With her recognition in this contest I know her act was business as usual. It reinforces that positive feeling I received from only one contact with her.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut

Been signed up with them for awhile. Lots of great shops not too far from me but they are out of my comfort zone....gotta put my big girl panties on and break out!

Great interview. I've never worked with this scheduler, but I look forward to doing so in the future. I also noticed that the interviewer did a lot of research prior to formulating the questions. Well done!
