Do try A Closer Look as someonone suggested. Once you build a good rapport with them, you can email them in advance of the job postings and request a hotel. They are great to work with. You can see what ones are offered by going on the "locations" tab and choosing "hotels." Their reports are not difficult. I have done so many for a particular chain that I accumulated enough points to take my family on vacation. And its a great chain that we have been more than happy with. I prefer ACL because you pay up front and they reimburse you, thus allowing you to keep your points. Data Quest is great, but their hotels are more upscale, for the most part. They are quite plush, but they are surely a lot of work. I have done several in the past. Yes, you get rooms service rolled in, complete with prime rib and creme brulee, have a full breakfast the next morning, etc (or dine to the nines at night and have room service for breakfast), but you definitely will spend time on the report and keeping track of the many different aspects of the report (valet, check in, concierge, bar, room service, dining, breakfast, bell hop, turn down service, posing a maintenance problem, security check, check out, valet, belhop). Just don't take an assignment with them thinking you will simply enjoy a free night or two. Having said that, they are also a great company to work with. They do, however, reverse the charges on your credit card a few days after the shop is completed, so you do not accrue any points. Its a matter of what works better for you. I have gone to a few major cities doing shops for them and was able to do some sight seeing, so it was not all work.
