Best Buy Receipt Transaction Number

Does anyone know which number on a Best Buy receipt is the transaction number? There is a validation number and the long receipt code is right underneath the validation number but I have no clue what to use as the "transaction number" which is asked for in the report.

I can't remember about Best Buy specifically, but transaction numbers are usually found all the way at the bottom, on the right. The word "sequence" or some abbreviation like "trans" or "seq" or "ts" is frequently found.

I've had temendous problems with this as well. I have ranted about it on every BB job I have done. I usually dont put anythng because yeah its way to confusing.

When you have that string of numbers you have to input- its the entire line below the Val # and you have to put in all the numbers in a specific way. Including the date and the military time and the last 8 digit number.
It will look something like this..

1094 003 2647 041912 13:07 00913688 the 041912 was the date. But yeah its listed like that.

Hope this helps. I never did find a transaction number unless it's that last 8 digit number.

Let's see! That's the one where you actually do two shops in one because you evaluate two departments, plus evaluate the cashier for a $10 fee after you pay $5 in gas to get to the store. Then you do a redundant form that is longer than Rip Van Winkle's beard. I did that when I was a novice.

Of course no one knows you were the shopper. Everyone goes to Best Buy to try and buy something for $1. at the register. Novice alert, Best Buyis not worth the time and money unless you actualyy need the item being shopped.

@piled hip deep: Plenty of people go into bestbuy and don't buy anything. I've went into bestbuy to look at things and bought a soda on the way out. While it may not be the norm, it happens on the occasion.

However, I agree with you.Instead of having you buy something for a buck, they should have you take a time-stamped photo of the store front.

I do tons of shops at Best Buy and not for the company that actually shops Best Buy. Mine are usually computers/printers/ink/appliances/credit card shops/compliance/wireless. I have never done the two department shop for the one company.

I am getting annoyed at all the photo necessary shops. How can the outside of a mall prove you did a phone company inside. You do the outside if you cant get a pix inside.
Also taking apix of the food you are eating when you eat alone is getting to be a pain. ]
Guess that is the way of the future. I notice that more and more companies are requiring photos.
Today I have to return to a store because I took a pix or other machines rather than the demo one.

usually if it is a kiosk on the inside of the mall they want you to take the picture of the kiosk from a distance.

Actually there have been a bunch lately (much to my surprise) that say you can take a photo of the outside of the mall. I agree that it doesn't prove you were actually inside, but my guess would be it is to verify you went to the right location and a photo of the outside can certainly do that.

I have performed 5 of the two department shops. They always had a good bonus attached. The reports took me about 15 minutes. I had a great scheduler who compensated me well but the MSC moved people around and I don't have an individual scheduler anymore. It is quite frustrating to get emails with only a company signature and not know the actual person you are corresponding with. I have not done any shops since the change.

I've done lots of the BB shops. I find them to be a nice "filler" shop if I'm in the neighborhood. They're easy and stress free. As to the actual transaction #, I don't really worry about it if it's not labled as such on the receipt.

Here's a funny...

DH had to do a BB shop about a week ago. (Still don't know why he does all of these from this particular MSC, I hate their reports.)

Walks out of the store and...

Runs into a "MSC Shirted Exit Survey Taker". Same company! He had to laugh, says, "Oh, you work for name-of-MSC?" Survey Taker gives him a dirty look. "How do you know who they are?" So now we've identified 2 other shoppers who are here in our area!

The Best Buy receipt transaction number is located below the Val #. First, you will see a 4 digit number which is the store number. Then you will see a 3 digit number which is the register number. Then, just before the date, there will be another 4 digit number. That is the receipt transaction number.
