You're so right. Aside from it just being right to treat others as you'd like to be treated, you are less likely to get dinged if you cooperate and are respectful to the editor. I've made a few big goofs on reports in the years I've been shopping, and there are editors who have still given me a 10 because I got back to them quickly and was nice about it. Never burn bridges when you don't have to! I've had a few call me, and it was usually something quick to clarify.
