Questions about the "Prepaid Card Swap" in grocery stores

This project has finally reached what I consider a decent pay near me, so I'm tempted. According to the email I received from the MSC, I would have to find the main display in the store, replace all cards on the display, remove expired ones, place new card bundles, and take pictures of everything. Also need to use the GoSpotCheck app, which I don't yet have.

I am wondering if this assignment takes much more time to complete than it sounds. If any of you have done it, how long does it generally take? Any time-saving tips? What would you consider good pay for doing it? And is the GoSpotCheck app worth having?

Thanks in advance for any insights you can offer!

I have done these and time involved completely depends on how many prepaid pegs the cards are on, which varies greatly with the stores. It is time consuming but can be completed in 30-45 minutes as pictures area required on the GSC app and you have to check back stock as well. Currently offering $20 to do these in my area, but that isn't enough for what is involved.
Thanks for your reply. I had a feeling it would be more time-consuming than I would want for what they're offering. I am going to pass on these unless the rate goes up some more. Thanks again!
Hmm, so today they're offering $40. Would you do it for $40 or is it still too involved/time-consuming for that much?
I do a lot of these. I find that if they are ones I have completed before, the cards are in good shape from my prior efforts and go really quickly. If it is a new location to me, it can take longer because the expiration dates, etc. Can be really messed up. $40 should be worthwhile.
GoSpotCheck works well and helps finish reports quickly. The only time I've had problems was when the WiFi was spotty inside the store.
Well, someone had grabbed it at $40, but it's available again - this time at $60. I don't think I'll mind doing it for $60, and it's not far from me at all, so I requested it. So, now I wait and see if they schedule me for it.
I agree and wish I could "own" certain locations. The ones that I've done in the past few months are generally pretty quick and easy.

I signed up for some gas stations and some well-known pharmacy stores that I don't normally do back in the summer. Well, I had to ask the staff for large garbage bags - they had literally HUNDREDS of expired cards in backstock. I have no idea what previous reps were doing or if the store got sent 300 cards or something. It was seriously a full garbage bag.

I have also gone to some locations that the rack, cards and pegs were super dusty. Since they're shared racks with other cards/programs, I'm not sure whose responsibility it is to clean or dust.

I've never seen them go for $60! It should be less than an hour of work and there's no report to do when you get home!

$60 is fantastic. What state are you in? My scheduler, I am in CA, said they would never go above $35.
Curious about the GoSpotCheck app. Do we have to pay the monthly fee which appears to be $20 to use this app?
You shouldn't have to pay - I've never been charged to use this app.

It was my first time so it took me about 30 mins for a small grocery store with a main display and another at the customer service desk. The backstock was a little messy so I straightened it up and put all of this brand together. The sides of the display open up and the backstock is inside.

The Walmart ones say that they have up to 5 displays and they also require moving the cards if they are in the wrong spot. You can also go to store ahead of time just to see how many displays and if they look messy.

There is absolutely NO fee to use the GoSpotCheck app....if you're seeing one, it's not the legit app.......be careful!!!
They will send you a link to create a login and password for the app. There is no charge to the shopper.
Same MSC canceled 27 of 34 locations today after I spent hours on planning, mapping routes and applying for other jobs in tbe area. The remaining 7 are too far apart to be financially feasible.
Isn't it nice if you can actually follow yourself the next time after you spent tons of time fixing the screw ups?

Seems like if you make it right, the next time should be easier? But it also seems like they don't ask for us to go until there is an issue with whoever/whatever.

Is there anyway you can build up a relationship with the scheduler to make it a monthly merchandise deal for you? If so, how do you do it?
I LOVE these because they are straight forward and I think they go very fast...especially if I was at the store last. I do not rearrange POGs or mess with other vendor's cards. I've never had one take longer than 30 min. It is weird that the biggest store with up to 5 displays always wants to pay single digits. Now that is insulting, but even they don't take that long (usually don't have all displays) and can be a nice filler on the way or local.
I never updated this thread, sorry. I wound up doing this for the $60 it reached in my area. I was there for about two hours, but I'd say the first 45 minutes or so was taken up by trying to find the display, believe it or not. That was because the store managers told me there was no NetSpend display for these cards and that they hadn't seen anyone come in for NetSpend in months. I was on the phone with the MSC while they were on the phone with their supervisors. Eventually, one of the managers found the NetSpend section of the big card display that also had other types. It was hidden by a balloon display that someone had placed in front of that corner and none of us saw it earlier.

Once we moved the balloons out of the way, I was able to squeeze myself in the corner, open up the side of the display, and do the swap. It took a while because I was double checking myself at every step and had very little room to work, being wedged in a corner. If I stepped out too far into the aisle, I was in the way of customers coming in. Then the people behind the CS desk had disappeared when I had to give them the cards to discard, so I waited a bit. Still, I would do this one again, since I am familiar with it now, but will wait again to see how high the fee will go next time. I almost took it at $40, then decided not to, and the next day it went to $60.

I did a store by me for $25. They emailed me the following month and asked if I would do it at $9. I said no, but I would do that location and another one for $15 each, and another two stores that are further out for $25.
They said "Thank you for your interest, but no."

Those same stores got reposted at 9, 11, 15, 17, 18, 20 up to $25.... I think they try to repost them to the lowest bidder vs. someone who consistently and reliably does them. I will occasionally do things at a lower rate than the previous month if its bundled in with a route, but I can't agree to a pay cut that leaves me zero room for profit. I would LOVE to own some locations, so that I can set it up for my next visit - I've gone in stores after other people and cleaned up tons of old, expired, incorrectly placed cards but I can't agree to bottom of the barrel fees. I have other companies where I do less work for more money so I just do what works for me and keep it moving.

Oh, I had this happen once. It was not a grocery store I shop at frequently and it was in their floral/gift area!

I have done a number of them here in my area. They are really easy. Just print the guidelines and take them with you so you can reference the different displays. Of course the more you do the faster they go. If they ask for you to hang strips for them electronics is where i always put one of mine. Hope that helps.
