Medicare shops

A suggestion to shoppers. If you do any of the Medicare shops do not input more than 8000 characters in the final narrative! I had recorded and detailed the shop and the last narrative was 8000 characters too long. Fun time I had removing the extras!

Itsy, I believe there is a definite statement in the instructions that tell us NOT TO RECORD anything during the Medicare presentations. Not sure if by recorded you meant actually recording something, but it sounds like that. If not, nevermind.

I'm terrible at over narration, but it's because I've been "trained" to be nervous about not enough. The few times (in more than (MSC name removed by Mod as client previously mentioned) I do not include EVERYTHING that happened I am admonished for not adding "this" or "that" ha ha. But I've had to change my narrative all the time. I wish there were three types of shops and they were similar across the board - over-narate, simplify, and tick the right answer. ;-)

Seriously, make sure, also that you always write your narrative in your text program and you can keep a good eye on everything and change and correct as changes are necessary yet go back to the original if you need.

My bet is that you are highly appreciated regardless.

I would never put in 8000 characters. I make mine brief and to the point, with a scattering of direct quotes.

I don't know what made me that way-whether it's the writer or perfectionist in me-or if it's from being scared I'll be questioned! I'm going to follow Johnb974's lead for one week and see how I do. It really would be better for so many reasons, mostly the hourly rate I end up with. Thanks!

(Mod note: Your post has been removed. Forum rules state that members are not to reveal the clients of MSC. Your post is requesting members break that rule. Additionally it is also usually against MSC's ICAs to name their clients.

As a forum member of three years, you should know that we can not tell you who shops this client. It would be breaking our ICA and one of the basic rules of this forum.

Itsy, how long did it actually take you to complete the report? I'm considering doing one of these. TIA.

The medicare shops I've done require little to no narrative. Sounds like the report intensity depends on the MSC?

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.
