I picked up a new type of route in Feb., collecting the coins from Ronald McDonald House donation boxes in McDonald's once or twice a month. Most stores have 3 boxes on the counter plus a drive thru box. A few drive thru boxes are collected from the outside of building, which can be a little challenging. Takes about 15 min. per location, then the collections are taken to a specific credit union to be run thru the coin machine. Pays $12 per location. Independent Contractor, flexible on days/times of collections. I'm two months into it, and it's been pretty easy (except for the one with super greasy floors where I ended up on my fanny as I was on my way out!) And if I can piggyback some mystery shops along the way, even better.
Gralan Services is still looking for collectors for routes in central Indiana and northern Indiana; most cities have just 1 location, except Marion (3), Warsaw (3) & Angola (2). Cities in the potential routes are Auburn, Avilla, Berne, Bluffton, Butler, Churubusco, Columbia City, Decatur, Elwood, Fremont, Hartford City, Huntington, Kendalville, Ligonier, Marion, North Manchester, Portland, Union City, Wabash, Warren, Warsaw, Winchester. The credit union locations where the coins are deposited are in Auburn, Bluffton, Columbia City, Fort Wayne & Kendalville.
Gralan Services (a division of Midland Facility Services) does this in Ohio and Kentucky too, but I don't know if there are open routes there. My route is Fort Wayne, and I've been trying to help out with some other Indiana ones while they're looking for help, but some are just too far for me.
If anyone is interested, please email Grant at
gbarwick@midlandfacilityservices.com and tell him you heard about it from me (Chris Knight).
