CAST/Castforce Merging?

If you are working as a Cast employee and something small came up for Castforce, you would not be able to do it. One company at a time, either as an IC for Castforce or as a W-9 employee for Cast. Not both, not allowed.

How were you able to find this out? Wonder why we cant do both? Any ideas? Thanks for the information, it is appreciated.
Hello, I have been told this by a Castforce employee. I was told there would only be small projects if any going forward.

Filling out the paperwork as a W-9 Cast employee clearly states that if you are presently an IC with Castforce then you must call Human Resources and terminate your IC agreement to move forward with Cast as an employee.
I have been with Castforce for a couple of years and I got my onboarding package for Cast a couple of weeks ago. The first set of paperwork I got said that you could not work for Cast if you had work for Castforce previously. After getting a hold of HR at Cast I was told that the rule about working for Castforce before being hired on as a Cast employee is not valid anymore. They resent me a new package and the wording about working for Castforce before CAST has been deleted. I scheduled my first job for Cast and they gave me a window of one week to schedule a day to get the job done. I was also give the option to pick what big box stores I wanted to cover.

The problem with this work as ic is it crosses into the grey legal areas. The work was offered as ic but the ic had no control over it other than the day you did the work. I think this maybe happening because of the other companies and a few lawsuits. I have read negative information about Castforce on the internet.
I hope you will keep us posted on how this goes for you. I did a lot of work for Castforce, working around a full-time job. I had a good relationship with my manager and was often paid over the listed amount. I don't think working as an employee will work out for me.
I was also wondering the same thing. Are the assignments only able to be done on Monday or Tuesday only? Are the hours restricted, like 9 to 5. Any information would be appreciated. Working as a IC, I Iiked how i could complete the assignments when i wanted.
Assignments are to be scheduled on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday between 9AM and 6PM. They tell you how long the assignment will take and I assume now that if it states 1.5 hours that you need to be working on that task for 1,5 hours. I enjoyed starting out in WM stores as early as 7AM when I was an IC. Now half the morning is wasted before being able to begin work. Also, just received two additional assignments on a Monday morning for completion by Wednesday. So much for advance planning.
And the problems are starting. I received 3 assignments late last night, 2 from WM stores I work in often and put in for, and another 40 miles away and at least an hour drive each way. Immediately notified my supervisor, who is a good guy and I have worked with him before, but have not heard back. This store didn't even come up on the store opportunities list-and there were well over a dozen WM stores, I put in for 3. I was very clear in my application that I only work in nearby areas (I'm in a very large metro area), and they had me onboarded before I finished my coffee. This may be one of my shorter employments, because I am not going to do it.
I have heard two different things about assignments. First i heard you can pick out your assignments like with CastForce, then I heard they assign you everything in your area and you must do all of the assignments. Which have you found to be the correct one? Do they require us to do all stores within a certain radius of our home address?
Castforce had trouble finding anyone for the assignments in my area. I wonder how well they will do now.
I wish it wasnt changing. I really enjoyed doing the assignments when i wanted, and the ability to pick and choose what i want to do. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.
I also had a problem with the every thing in your assigned area concept when I spoke with them. I did not accept their offer. 9 am start? Yikes, my day is half over by then!
If you dont mind me asking, what is the hourly rate they offered you. They kept saying "premium pay " in their emails, but how much is that per hour?
Well, my indignation was short lived. I was offered either removing the assignment or travel miles and time.
This may be different in different areas, but my portal had a list of stores in a 30 mile radius, and I could chose what store locations I'd like to cover, with the proviso that one is expected to take all work from those locations. I think continuity of the big beauty client is the big thing these first few weeks.

And imagine-no more searching high and low for a manager to sign you out!

Do you guys really think it is better than Castforce? As per my understanding, if you finish job in 30 minutes you will be paid for 30 minutes not like castforce where you get paid for full hour?
So we dont need management signatures any more? How will they know the work is completed? I dont know anything about how we will be paid yet......
Communication really went down the drain in December. I received the one email from CAST, but nothing from Castforce. You would think they would reach out to us, and give us the low down.
I work for a company that does not require signatures. Just before and after pictures with the store number and the date written and placed in the picture. Lots and lots and lots of pictures. It still is waaaay easier than finding the ever elusive manager, who is apparently out smoking something with Bigfoot and Elvis, somewhere that the overhead page is not able to be heard and has no phone reception. Beamed up to the mothership, perhaps?

If you get assigned a particular store you have to do all the projects in that store that will come up. I was not able to secure my closest stores to my house.

I worked for Castforce specifically because I could pick and choose my assignments. I only do light merchandising because of physical disabilities. In November, I had a HUGE problem with Castforce's paycard. My card had expired and they had not sent me a new one. First the company promised to Western Union my money and then backtracked and said they could not do that. I waited over two weeks for my new card, with the pay company holding on to over $600 of my money that I needed to travel to see my fiance. I talked it over with my fiance and decided that the aggravation of the paycard wasn't worth it and I notified my Castforce area manager that unless they could get the system fixed I was unavailable for further work. I've gotten two phone calls from CAST asking me to sign up, and I've asked them to stop calling me. I refuse to be a W2 worker, and I refuse to work for a company that can't find a reliable way to pay their employees.

I am very irritated with Castforce. I had a rep call me last month to try to sell me on doing work with Cast and not Castforce. I made the mistake of laughing at the rep because he tried to sell me on $11 and hour with a 3 hour min at the location. IE I would show up Wed afternoon at 530 and be there until 830. I questioned the logic of this seeing I was doing the exact same work in 45 min for $30 a pop. The guy got very defensive, became a total dick on the phone and I guess he did not like my answers. I think I got "blackballed" for my questions and answers, because I lost all work for Dec. I was also told at the time that I could only work for Cast or Castforce and not both. I of course asked why this was an issue and he refused to actually answer. It was one of the most frustrating job interview/call I have ever been on. Plus,I went through 3 regional reps this year, the last was a total moron. 2013 and 2014 I made @3 grand extra for the month for Dec. This year I made half that for the entire 2015 year. I think they lost a lot of clients. Its a shame really, it was a great part time job while it lasted.
slcany, this is the point. they came up with the idea to pay per hour not job so they can save more money. If you finish your job in 30 minutes you will get paid $5.30/job not $11 like in castforce. They saved $5.50/job. no mileage etc..
Hello, I think when someone states a three hour minimum that means if it takes you less than the time you will be paid for the three hours. should the work be more than three hours you still get a per hour rate. I know in Illinois when you do temp. work the agency has to pay you for a minimum of four hours.
Under some state laws they have to pay mileage from the first store to all other stores you do that day. they also have to pay you an hourly wage while you are between stores.
That's true in California, and my pay stub has no pay for either mileage or drivetime. My TOM referred me to HR, and HR hasn't called back. They've already paid below minimum wage for training. I can't believe they don't have someone on staff to keep up with state laws.
Just received an email stating that their major client has opened up the ability to work on Sunday and that they love having all of the projects done by Wednesday of each week. Plus there was BS about getting more stores since another day is available. Sorry but some of us do not work on Sunday and the ability to work in a WalMart on a weekend does not appeal to me.
