Mattel: Seasonal

There is a "Retail Merchandiser Seasonal PT” for Mattel in my area. I was wondering if anyone would give me their insight or experience: did you like it? What was the pay rate? Were you mainly at one store? Or any other information would be greatly appreciated.

Without knowing the name of the Merchandising company I can't help you. I do know a few years ago there was an MSC that did Black Friday toy restocking. They required you to be in the store during prime shopping hours keeping the shelves full and looking good. Can't tell you any more since I did not do that job and would never try to merchandise on Black Friday.

I remember seeing those Black Friday jobs through a MSC too. It's been a couple of years ago. This job posting is through Mattel, not a MSC. Thanks so much for offering your help.
In another life smiling smiley I actually worked at the department store that needed help stocking. I was there 2 Black Fridays in the Home and Kids department. It was crazy, but a lot of fun too.
I would guess the Mattel job would be mostly inventory and shelf maintenance . I would verify if they pay mileage because it probably requires a lot of driving. Unless you are assigned a large toy store I can't see enough work in one store. Could be fun though.

From your prior response - merchandising would be a breeze for you.

In some areas Mattel hires there own merchandisers but in others they contract out with different merchandising companies. Hourly rate will depend on who you hire on with. Hours should be weekly depending on the store (Mostly Walmart and Toys-R-Us I believe). You will be stocking toys in the regular aisles and setting and maintaining displays.
I picked up some work for Mattel a couple years ago through another company and it was weekly starting (I think) right before Thanksgiving up until the week before Christmas.
