Companies who are hiring

Does anyone know of companies who are hiring at the present? The company that I have worked for in merchandising for over a year sold out to another company. I was offered a few hours but, the job just doesn't offer enough hours. Plus, the hours would effect any other job I might take as they were spread out over the week.

Most companies are hiring but it depends where you are located. A company may be hiring in one area and not another so this is not an straight forward question.
The best place to start looking is indeed.com which pulls from lots of different sites for job listings. Put in your zip code to find jobs in your area.
The other important thing to do is network with other merchandisers in your local stores. They will know what jobs are available locally.
I agree. networking is key. I see one merchandiser all over town and we have become friends. I have also met another who covers the same projects in a different territory for a company, while working I was working on a different company's projects. We now know who we can call for backup if needed.

Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just forget to load the film.
Retail Merchandising Services has lots of openings, especially in AZ and CA, but really all over the US. [www.rmservicing.com]

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
I don't know where you live. If you live on the east coast, try PL marketing. That is private label marketing. they do the marketing and merchandising in Kroger.

There are so many different types of merchandising projects. It would help if you listed what you wanted to do and your area so we could point you in the righ direction.

The regular part-time job I had was working in Walmart (gaming area, cell phones/cards, gift cards, doing resets, inventory, etc). I have picked up some work but it is not regular. I live in middle Tennessee, half way between Nashville and Knoxville. Thanks for your reply.

The easiest thing to do to find merchandising jobs in your area is to search
Indeed.com
It pulls from most of the job sites and merchandising companies. There is even a place, forgot how it's been a long time, where you can put in your email to get daily updates on jobs available in your area.
Otherwise it is hit or miss applying for every single company.
Since we are all scattered it is difficult to know who might be hiring in your local area. For example there could be a company hiring like crazy where I live but without any openings in your area.
Good luck.
Also network with other merchandisers in the stores. I am constantly passing on job information to other merchandisers if I am not able to apply.
I have never used Indeed.com so I cannot speak on it. I continue to get calls from companies who have gotten my information from NARMS/World Alliance [www.retailworldalliance.com] This site specializes in retail Merchandising.
