Field Agent

I did a jail photo shoot with no problem! I was paid within 49 minutes too. I love FA.

I made $240 in 10 days of having the app.

What I really dislike is that recently they had restaurant menu audits. They posted a location that ended up being closed and I never received any compensation for it. I would have been happy with a $1 because I took the time to go there. The instructions don't indicate what to do if a location is closed permanently. By the time you may get to a location and discover it's closed, it is probably after the five minute mark where you can cancel without it affecting your Agent Score.

The reason the General Manager gave for the rejection was that "Agents are supposed to know what locations are open and closed permanently." The location they rejected was in another city so I really had no idea that it was closed at all. I found the response from the General Manager to be very unprofessional and full of assumptions. The jobs don't always pay a lot so it is frustrating when you take time to go out and do a job only for them to claim your GPS wasn't on or some other excuse. Otherwise the app is awesome, it could even better. Hope to see more improvements in the future both with the app and the staff.

I did a Walmart yesterday. I was to count the out of stock items. I did get paid and cashed out. Then I got an email that said I had done it incorrectly. I replied that I had not. Then I received a reply that the white, blank, shelf tags are to be added to the out of stock total. We had not been told that beforehand. There were two white, blank shelf tags. I had put 1 product was out of stock. I was told, no, 3 products are out of stock, since I did not count the two blank shelf tags.

There was no way anyone could have guessed that. I'm now actually in a negative pay balance since they approved the job, paid me, then took it back. This was their fault but I am out of pocket.
Are you negative with Paypal or with Field Agent?

I'm surprised they paid you before they closed the job out. When I had an issue, it sat a couple days with a question mark while they sorted it out. I think once they paid you as if the job was accepted, it was their mistake. Is your negative balance with Field Agent? Like you have to take more jobs to work it off?

I've never cashed out on the same day, but also I don't like to let anything sit too long.

I don't think I would count blank tags, because there is no way to know what is supposed to be there. If it was supposed to be a double-facing, split what is beside it and nothing is out of stock.

Also, it sounds like they could have corrected it from the photo, doesn't it? Then just ding your score and fix the instructions.

I'm -$7.50 with Field Agent. They knew I did the job correctly. Walmart must have said, after the fact, to add the blank tags to the total.
I wonder if in future we are supposed to do that? Count the out of stock then add the blank tags.
It really sucks that we are out of pocket when they are to blame.
I believe you when you say you did the job right as I have experienced the GM change the rules afterwards or just not include specifics at all. I agree with cm that he could have just changed the totals. If you decide to work off the 7.50 on the app maybe you could ask him what to do in the future? I assume you've done this but have you talked with the GM about this?

Happy you got your money and that it wasn't debited from your Paypal account. Will you continue to do jobs with them, mistry? It's too bad there is only one person that does support for them because while I hope this doesn't happen again, it probably will in some way shape or form down the road. To no fault of your own of course.

Yes, I'll continue to do Field Agent. I usually like it. I was just told that I cannot be paid because they sent another person to do the job. I asked if the other person had been given the additional information to add the white tags to the out of stock products. He said no, they were not given that additional information, but their job passed QC. I bet the other person also put 1, not 3. I suspect it is a problem with the QC person. They were probably just going to waste people's time until someone's job was accepted.

I'm actually depressed about this and I usually don't get depressed. I live in downtown Toronto. The store was at Keele and Lawrence, so you can imagine how long it took to get there by bus, subway, then bus.

I'm a poor person, but if someone did a job for me and I paid them I would never consider taking the money back from them because I didn't give them the correct instructions. It's unethical.

I would be pissed.. I give you props for wanting to still do jobs with them. I had enough after doing jobs in the same area.. Even when you live close, having to go back cause one of your jobs was rejected is a pain let alone being paid and having to work off that balance. It all is very unethical.. I just don't have the patience for all of that. FA CA doesn't care how long it took you, he didn't care when he offered a job at a closed location when it was -33 out. Annoys me still but as time goes on I think about it less..

It doesn't help but those jobs are not that high paying, try to keep your head up. It doesn't reflect on your skill or anything. The QC person is the GM BTW. That's why I don't want to do work for them because if he is wrong, there is absolutely no one else to talk to.

There are hundreds of jobs listed now where you have to go to a receptionist and ask them about their coffee, water, and shredding services, as well as how many employees they have. I can't imagine a receptionist would give that information to a stranger. Have you tried any of them? The number has been 150 all week, but maybe 150 is the maximum the number goes up to so maybe people have been successful.

$1.50??

Those aren't posted here, but sales reps cold call offices all the time so I think receptionists are used to it. I doubt a receptionist in a lot of places would even know the answer. It would be the office manager, etc., so it would be awkward since you aren't selling anything. I wonder what they pay if no one will talk to you? Or the receptionist is willing to help, but you don't want to speak to purchasing?

As with anything with Field Agent, don't take it unless you are there anyway.

Field agent blows in fly over county no new jobs. Same ole same ole. Vision screener 0$, insurance bill, garden bed that you already have. Dry cleaner in a store. One other that I can't remember.
The aggravating thing about FA is that once you accept, you only have two hours to accept. BUMMER! I just looked and there are 4 I could do tomorrow....however, by the time I leave the house, they will more than likely be gone. SUCKS! (Other than THAT, I like FA!)

Wish there were more apps like that one, GW and ES.
I like it, especially the scavenger hunt. I had some of the products already in my house - which is completely acceptable. They even let you log the item if it's at a friends house. $6.50 for taking pictures of a single product I have on hand? Or at a store I regularly shop - they have them at stores I shop at consistently. The scavenger hunt in the app is where I make most of the money, sometimes they'll have a price check for something that's on my route or a store I am going to be at anyway. They also have credited my account within 24 hours of submission and paid out within an hour. Actually my last payout to paypal took 10 min to arrive. So, if you have major retailers nearby or ones en route, it can be an easy buck (for the scavenger hunts at least, they take like 2 min unless your phone is being uncooperative then it can take longer).
Seems like there are only two shops both for $7.00 and about an 113-mile round trip and a two hour drive. UMM I don't think so.

Oopsie this is Easy Shift not Field Agent. That has no shops. And hasn't really had shops since Christmas.

Oops shop rejected because you talked about the wrong subject .

ION89, any advice on how to find the items they are looking for on Field Agent? Do you google it first or us a UPC lookup? I love the Field Agent Audits but don't have much luck with the scavenger hunts.
You can locate the UPC's online before going to the location, or even ask an employee for help. Some will even check it on their telxon and tell you what the item is. It is so easy.
I have been using FA for months and can never do the scavenger hunts. I often find the exact product, but the upc doesn't match up. I'm wondering if upc's are different in different areas. I've kind of given up on the scavenger hunts, but I love the app for the quick audits!
Which website do you use to look up the UPC's? I've tried to do that in the past and could never find them.

I was doing merchandising in Walmart the other day and the LOA for the project had the Supplier Agreement attached. I noticed that it now says suppliers agree to not hire "members of the general public" including, but not limited to, using apps such as Field Agent.

CM - Wow, that is very interesting. I will have to pay attention to some of my merchandising LOA's and see if they say the same thing.
I find FA only useful if I am already in the store, or headed to it or driving by it (usually not worth the extra stop unless it is literally a few yards away from my location). That said I find I can get a Trifecta if I can do an Easy Shift assignment and get some Shopkick points all in the same location.
I got too busy to worry about any apps (yea!), but agree you can't go out of your way to use them because you lose money. It got to where it seemed like a waste of time to even check them, because I was never going to be where the jobs were. When things slow down, I'll probably be checking again though. I would feel sort of guilty doing anything in Walmart now, knowing it was either a supplier breaking the rules or a competitor being sneaky.

Re: LOA's - I did a job a few weeks ago that had to have a signed LOA by a Walmart manager (the hardest kind to pin down in my opinion) and I actually looked at the small print - and noticed the LOA was for a different merchandising company than the one that sent me in (though they LOA came from their website/ work order).

The manager also referred to that "other rep" that called earlier in the week about the same job (a floor display that they would not take the time to dig out from the bottom of a shipment).

My guess is the "other" company didn't get the job done so the manufacturer passed it on to us (and we failed too because you can't make Walmart do anything).
You can call the District Manager from the Store you are in and tell them that they are not cooperating (especially if this is a 2nd visit) and they will call the store Manager and have a little chat with them. I've done it a few times before for Walmart and for Target! It works!
