That is another reason it is better than Gigwalk - you get accepted immediately and have a set amount of time to complete the job. The photos I did had a 2 hour clock on them - it starts counting down as soon as you accept.

I've used it a fair bit this past month and earned $50. I paid out $30 already into paypal.
As long as you;re in the area, it's great. The assignments I've done are extremely easy.
However, that phone call thing is creepy and worrisome.

There is another section called "scavenger hunt" where they want photos of specific items. Recently they have been in Walmarts, CVSs, and Sam's, so if you were merchandising there and saw the item, you could accept the job and take a picture and make a couple extra bucks on the spot.

I KNOW! I'm not doing any more surveys. While they don't ask for deeply personal information, it is more personal than just sending a picture from a store. It was a typical market research type survey - where do you shop for this product the most, have you ever used this product, etc.

I merchandise weekly in CVS stores, and know the stores like my bathroom cabinet. Anything called scavenger hunt does get my attention. I will keep that in mind when I get a phone again. I may have to go IPhone.
I used to do the surveys that you would get in the mail. 20 pages and then you would get about $50 in coupons and free stuff.
That whole phone call thing is very worrisome though. I only do opinion stuff if there is a free item or a large discount involved.

I generally don't tell people about Field Agent because it increases the competition for the jobs.

Another way to look at it would be that having lots of agents enables them to take on more clients. Clients want a quick turnaround and will be unhappy if jobs sit too long.

I do FA wherever I am because it pays for my gas. I do not do the scavenger hunts but I do the audits. Easy money and they pay fast.

Do you find that many of these types of apps are iPhone only?
I think a lot of them are just iPhone, but a lot of them are coming out with Android based apps. Personally, I think my iPhone is worth having just for the apps.
Field agent is the only one that I have tried that I can not use on android.
I had an Android and recently switched to an iPhone (my kids "have" to have them and said we could text and share stuff better if we all had the same). Yes, all these apps are really easy with an iPhone. I loved that big Samsung that just came out, though, and life would be great with a screen that size! Every time I see one, I sort of regret not getting it, but if you couldn't get the apps then it wouldn't matter anyway.

Awww, I no longer feel as special since I have an iPhone instead of a Android. 
My area has a lot of mystery shops posted and I'm glad to see them still sitting there - 10 questions and a photo, but discreetly as a shopper, for a whopping $3.50.

I am seeing the same thing. The clown shop-(hospitality shop it was called) with every single thing the same as a mystery shop- but for even less $. Mandatory purchase, timings, pictures. Such a deal ( for the MSC) It was not Field Agent, it was one of the other ones. I took lots of pictures at the large mass discounter yesterday for Checkpoints, until the fire alarm went off and everyone had to evacuate the building. You get points for taking pictures of the bar codes of different products. When you have enough points, you get a gift card. I'm 3/4 of the way there already.

I find the scavenger hunts not to be as fruitful for me. I can never find what they are looking for. Do you ever ask the associate for assistance?
If they approach me and ask if I need help finding anything, I will ask if they have it, but I wouldn't stop them to ask.

The pay is very is minimal, but the tasks are incredibly easy.
However, it adds up really quickly.
Customer service is excellent.
I've done about 70 assignments.
I was denied payment on two.
I emailed to ask why I was denied the payment.
They replied the next day. (Yes, it was my fault)
Payouts are usually the same day.
I think the longest I waited was 2 days.
At $6.50 each, the scavenger hunts are highly competitive.
The trick to those:
only accept if you know that you can locate the correct UPC
take CLEAR photos

Some jobs show as $0.00 today. Anyone know why?
Do these apps work on tablets? Specifically a (Windows) Surface?
Works better on Apple iPad tablets.

Tried it on my Moto Droid I could get to it, but didn't find anything close by that I could do. Tried the scavenger hunt app couldn't find squat. Most were discontinued sizes. $7.50 for a price check at a discount grocery that takes about 30 minutes. Hmm Nope, I will pass Mr Bean.
There are a few jobs that never get filled on FA. I can't believe they are still posting photo shoot jobs for jails and correctional facilities. One is NOT ALLOWED to take pictures of these facilities, even if FA and the person/company with whom they are contracting provides a letter of authorization.
We also have many "Beer glassware audits" available in my area. I can only guess they don't get filled because most of the users of these instant job apps are under 21 years old.
