Has anyone done work for SPAR INC.. as far as merchandising

Not a top payer, makes the simplest instructions very complicated. Ok as a fill in company, when you are looking for extra hours. If you are in a major market, you will probably get lots of assignments. Read the ICA very carefully. Several of the merchandising companies that I do work for are changing how drive time is paid or even if they pay drive time/mileage anymore.

Spar does NOT pay drive time, however they do pay to print paperwork. Down side: they assign you jobs, you do not pick and choose, and I have jobs 5 weeks out that have still not been paid. They pay more than some companies, but it is very hard to get ahold of someone!

Agree with the previous comments, they have some really easy covert audit assignments sprinkled in with the usual revealed merchandising.

Jaosmom, write an email to your DMM asking what's up with the pay. SPAR has always paid me on time.

I did- she responds to emails with lots of !!!!!! and short answers. She never looked into a thing. I did 2 audits that were paid 5 weeks out. I now have the name of her supervisor, and will just email her from now on. I received an email from my DM's "assistant" and it looks like a third grader wrote it. No caps, spelling mistakes ( vender, hilp, lemme know) and run on sentence.

Maybe I was just lucky here in Houston to have a DMM and support staff who actually took their jobs seriously.

I worked for SPAR when they had Blockbuster machines
they payed $12 a machine (no drive time and I routinely drove over 100 miles in a day)
then they lowered it to $8
I would earnestly say 80% of my stops involved listening to customers whine about the damaged machines.
I told them I didn't want to lift 50lbs and do planograms and at first I had light merchandising - quite nice
but then they would send me on complete resets alone (imagine 4 pallets of Post-it-Notes) planogram and 6 hours to do it alone
uh - no

I remember once when I told the district manager that a store manager at a "large Dept. Store" was saying things like "women s*ck and stink at jobs, you all are ignorant, and told a partner (male) I brought in for a job don't let the sl*t do any work"
I was surprised the District Manager at SPAR wouldn't take it on
he just said - "put up with it - we need the account"

I company was quite nice - now?
well let's just say when it worked out that I was pro-rating $4 hour for my work/drive time
I let it go

Wow. I'm going to go ahead and say it in as many words: my DMM dropped me from her team recently. After reading that, it's probably just as well.

I would happily have done RedBox/Blockbuster for $12 per machine. Not for $8 though.

There's flagrant gender discrimination and they say "put up with it, we need the account?" Get real.
