The ones I do most are from the purple portal (Certified) of Market Force. Being in a large metro area like St. Louis is a big help. MF is known in the industry as a low payer, but they always pay.
Try. www.narms.com. They list lots of companies. Some are for full-time positions but you can find a variety of assignments with the different companies. They also have demo companies. The individual companies would tell you whether they have work in your area. Merchandisers in other parts of the country generally would not know. You have to contact the companies.
I'm new to the Mystery/secret Shopper game. I see "merchandising" shops listed, but I don't know what they are exactly. I did an Internet search of "Mystery Shopper"+"merchandising" to see if I could get an explanation of it. All I got were webpages of companies advertising the service. Can someone explain the ins and outs of a merchandising shop to me please?

It seems there are a lot of mystery shoppers in this area, but I rarely see one posting. Should I ask what part of town you live in or where did you go to high school!winking smiley

Yeah I have a general idea. For instance filling in a rack of giftcards @ a Walmart from backstock. But some I think you might have to be shipped merch to take w/you. I would like to hear details too in order to see if it is worth pursuing.

LisaSTL - I'm so sorry I misled you. I'm in the Tampa Bay area and just knew being in a metro area like St. Loius can be a plus with choices.

I do many different kinds of merchandising in my area from restocking phone or gift card displays in different types of stores to resetting nail polish in a big box discount store. My favorite was replacing Disney Princess dolls in a shelf display when Rapunzel came out from their "Tangled" movie. I could do what I wanted with the old dolls, so I gave some away and the rest went to Toys for Tots. I liked getting paid for contributing to a worthy cause!

You'll want to familiarize yourself with a planogram or pog for short. Often you must rearrange a display to appear exactly the way it appears on a diagram. They usually want digital photos uploaded to prove you did it right.

I stay close to home for these because they don't often pay that well. But they can be nice fillers in a route and some can be interesting. Good luck if you decide to try it. It's certainly not difficult as long as you follow the directions.
Sorry bout that. My response should have been to the OP. Sometimes I don't read so well, LOL!
