Hi - It would help if you identify your company. MSC representatives state at the bottom of each message who they are and what company they're with.
What do you mean when you state you look forward to learning about the industry. I assume as an editor you've had much experience in the industry already.

They could be a new editor so wouldn't exactly have a lot of experience in the industry.
We welcome schedulers, editors and company managers. But, we like to know just who they represent when they "speak" here. Therefore, members expect they will add a permanent signature line, stating their company role and the company name. You can add this in your profile and it will automatically attach to all of your posts, past as well as future.

“An” is correct. When dealing with acronyms, you choose the form of the indefinite article based on the pronunciation of the acronym. “MSC” is pronounced “em-ess-see,” so the first sound is a vowel sound and demands “an.”

I am currently a mystery shopper, and while I love the job, my arthritic knee is making it difficult to get around. Can anyone please assist me in the process of becoming an editor?

I always give forum writing a free pass on grammar except when the poster brings it up. You have two errors in this sentence alone. Proofread carefully when you apply for editor positions.

While you have a good point, I was not applying for an editing job. I was merely asking for information. Any simple word document could spot common spelling errors. For instance, it should've been critiquing (without the e) and another rather than other. Editing is actually different than proof reading. A good editor should have the ability to look at the whole report and know what information is missing, etc. But I appreciate your humorous response and proofreading my sentence.

Well, as I've only worked at two MSCs, I'm interested to learn more about other companies' editing processes and shopper experiences.
I don't think being an editor means I have to be an expert on the entire industry, does it? Lots of companies out there!

Like others have said, MSC reps who join the forum have a permanent signature line and often use their real names as part of their forum name, or at least use their real names in their signature line along with the MSC name. You should tell your company about that. Examples of this are ShoppersViewChristine. Here is a link to a thread where you can see how she displays her signature line:
