Hi all! I used to mystery shop full time out of Tampa until I decided to move to NYC. Something about not wanting to spend all of my time driving. Since then, I have found so many jobs where I had to drive, including food trucks. So many people don't have licenses and plenty more just don't want to deal with the traffic.
Most shops I can get to by public transit. When I can find car rentals for $20-$50, I'll grab jobs further out. I'm still hopeful that I can beat that time I got paid $250 to drive from Tampa to Naples to do two gas station shops (of course I added extra stops to the route).
I have been slowly gearing up and I've already done 23 shops this month with 12 more scheduled. Flying LGA-ATL on Delta in a week, if anyone knows of any post security jobs I can grab.
