Hello from Meadville, Pennsylvania

Hello all. I've been shopping for over a month now and still learning how this industry works.
I've signed up for about 25 companies so far in an attempt to widen my opportunities.
I apologize if this is the wrong forum to bring this up, but oftentimes when I sign up for a MSP, I find out it doesn't have any shops in my state or region.
Is there a place where I can find a list of MSPs by state and region?
Do some MSPs constantly change contracts to the point that if they aren't in my region right now, there's a chance they could be someday?
From what I've read so far, this forum is a fantastic community. Any help would be amazing!

Welcome !! If you want a steady supply of opportunities, keep signing up with MS Companies (MSCs). Clients change MSCs often. MSCs expand or acquire other MSCs on a regular basis. Busy shoppers are typically registered with 100-150 MSCs. One plan is as follows: on any day that you wish you had a shop but do not, your "job" is to sign up with 10 more MSCs. Some jobs are quarterly, btw, which may be why you have not seen those yet. Also, learning to construct and do routes where you travel to do several shops somewhat farther from home, is a skill that will help you to make more money from your new business venture. Above all, have fun!

Welcome!

Because of how frequently clients change companies, there is not a good way to keep a running list of which companies operate in which areas. To a degree, you just need to sign up for companies and you'll eventually have a few good hits. Make sure you are getting email notifications about jobs: A company that has nothing within in thousand miles of you today might pick up a new client tomorrow.

You can have a little bit of a jump start, however. At the bottom of this page, there is a link to over 200 companies. They are all legit - some are big, others are small. However, there is also a list of the "15 most discussed" companies. These are all larger companies with clients nationwide. I strongly suggest starting there. You will also notice that this forum is inundated with job advertisements. Read them. If there is something advertised in your area, sign up for the company - even if you are not interested in the job. They could have other work, too.

Finally, how far are you willing to travel? If you are willing to go 50, 100, 200 miles from home, you will find a lot more work - and often far more profitable work, sometimes with bonuses that more than compensate for driving time. On many days, I can't go more than 15 or 20 miles from home. However, there are some where I am off work and can drive over 200.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
Thanks for the advice and I appreciate the quick response. I'll have to keep signing up for companies!
