Hello Everyone! I’m Stephanie in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I did my first mystery shops in 2006. Back then, I had a toddler, an infant and a part time job. I found that mystery shopping didn’t fit into my life with young children. I had signed up with many companies and didn’t deactivate my accounts. I just ignored all the emails.
Last year, while unemployed, an email from A Closer Look caught my eye and I started thinking about mystery shopping again. I tried a couple shops and enjoyed them. It’s much more fun to do shops without trying to figure out what to do with my kids.
Since then, I have been regularly shopping and have continued to enjoy it. I enjoy the work and I think I will always do a little mystery shopping, even if I pick up a full-time job. I have a lot of admiration and respect for those who make mystery shopping a full-time job. For me, it makes a lot of sense to do mystery shopping as a part-time, on demand job. I love the flexibility of it.
I have never done a video shop, an apartment shop or an airline shop (I have done airport shops). I have tried most other types of shops. My favorites are grocery stores, entertainment shops, restaurants, and gas shops (no audits).
