Hello from Chicagoland

Just wanted to say hello finally. I've been working at this for a little over a year, and I only recently stumbled upon this forum, and just in the few posts I have read, the information you provide is INVALUABLE. I did not realize what an active industry this was. Thank you all in advance for your input - it helps greatly!

Hi and welcome! There is list at the bottom of the page, Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies. There might be some on there that you have not signed up with, yet. Glad you found the forum. There is a lot of information and if you ever have a question, all you have to do is ask.
Welcome, and be sure to check out the "New Mystery Shoppers" section. Tons of information there!
Welcome Chicago, one of my favorite cities.....looks like your doing fine, enjoy, read and learn.

Thank you all so much. I did not realize until I came here how many different MSCs there were... I have only been signed up with 6 and thought that was a pretty heavy load. Haha.....
Kayrenayn, don't be surprised if you sign up with one and they don't have any shops in your area. Still sign up, they might have a client in your area in the future. Things change around all the time and new shopping programs start up as well. Some people on here are signed up with over 200 companies. You can be as busy as you want to be, lol.
That was my next question.... on average, how many MSCs are people signed up for? 200, I don't know if i'm that organized to handle that many yet... But i've already discovered a lot of tools in this forum that will help me GET organized.
You could ask that question in the Mystery Shopping Discussion. I am signed up with a lot more than I actually work with on a regular basis. Some, I have never worked for, some I may work for once every few years. Others, I work for on a regular basis. Things change a lot in this industry. You will get a better idea of who shops who, with the more companies you are signed up with.
I now after 11 years, work for no more than 10 monthly, but did start with many to find out who has work in my area, jobs I like, pay, etc. I'm signed with many and at times get emails with something close to me, but I actually work for the 10 and have enough to keep me busy. ...it's a process to find which glove's fit your hands. Many if's and but's involved. I am lucky I don't have to work for the ones that I don't like. My companies treat shoppers
like humans and I have developed relationships, but it all takes time.

Live consciously....
