I am new to the forum, but I have been mystery shopping with one company for about a year. I'm looking to expand now that I have gotten practice and I also like to chat so I went looking for a community so.. here I am.
A little about me: I started out only applying for shops that I needed anyway (Like an oil change or a trip to the hardware store, or when I was shopping around for a new bank). I figured that since I had to do those things or in the case of the oil change, spend the money anyway, these were good practice since I wouldn't take a hit if I messed up and a lot of those pay a fee, too which is great!
After awhile, I started doing reimbursement only shops for other stuff if I happened to need to go to the area, which was nice to grab a "free" lunch or something small.
Since I am a SAHM and a full time college student, I am limited on shops I can do (since 99% don't allow me to bring the kids!) so I find my method to work well for me and it nets me some spending money for myself without taking any kind of losses

The plus side is that I drive from one county to the next and through a few towns to go to my in person classes, so that nets me a LOT of area to pull those shops without kids
I am impressed by those of you who have turned this into a career, because sometimes, it can be hard work just doing a few quickies!
