Hello!! I'm with about 30 so far. My favorite shop so for is doimg apartments, was with a certain company that takes 90 days to pay (didn't know any better until I came on here and did some research) so i signed up with a few other MSC's after reading some posts smiling smiley

I think those types of shops would be a blast but I don't think I'd want to do video shops. I didn't even know those existed until I found this forum.
They seem a little intimidating, but I think I am going to get my feet wet with those in the near future!

If THAT company is paying in 90 days, they are doing much better than they often do. Accepting work from THAT firm, IMO, without a hefty bonus is a big no no. I have flat out told their schedulers, that if THAT firm paid on time I would take the shops without a bonus but given their payment habits... Well, I told them I wasn't a bank and if I did I certainly wouldn't make interest free loans to an MSC that doesn't even pay their microvendors on time.
Well, I still haven't been paid for my April shops lol live and learn right? And yeah, I will not be doing anymore from them unless the bonus is very hefty. 90+ days is ridiculous, wish I would've came across this forum a few months ago lol
To me, if it's a solid company, 90 days is nothing. It's money in the bank. What kind of interest am I getting on 30 bucks a shot in 90 days anyway? I worked for a pest control company and it's customers would pay, on average, in 180 days. Of course, that was for $3,800 and up. Luckily, having a stash just for mystery shopping helps. Where I am, the turn-over is not very high in these jobs. So, a year between is not really enough. I gobble them up every couple of years and then leave them alone for a couple of years. I've had to travel and stay with my AirB&B buds to get rotations every couple of months. Most of the apartment shops I've had are for dives and, woefully, I've had to say NO I would not rent here based on this visit. My pepper spray and I are best friends.
True, but why do the same amount of work for a company that pays you out in 90 days, when you get the same pay, if not better, doing the same thing for another company that pays the same or more smiling smiley
Sure, is that how it works? The 90 dayers, less paying, not as good work companies would go belly up
Payment terms are irrelevant to me, it is all about pay to work ratio. The only correlation I've ever seen between actual pay and terms is the fast paying companies often pay less. They use the fast pay as the carrot.

Like I said, if it's a good paying shop from that MSC, I'll do it. I just know that they aren't the first company I'm going to look for for shops. I agree with you, certain jobs with faster pay do seem to pay less. I am learning that a little research can go a long way - this forum helps ALOT
