Hi from N.C.

I've been shopping part time for about 5 years, but would like to get more involved. I'd just like to know if anyone has made shopping their "full" time job. also, are their conferences or class's held, so you can learn more about what mystery shopping has to offer?

Thanks for the help,

Welcome to the Board!

I comsider Mystery Shopping a decent part time job. Some do get involved to the point it is a full time occupation. I am not big on conferences. This Board is all the social networking you need. Classes? Many MSC's hold classes online to prepare you for their jobs. CORI, while the local cheapskates, provides an excellent source of learning. My 2C...winking smiley

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
Most people who do mystery shopping will tell you that it's difficult to make enough of a living for it to be a full-time job. If you're looking to make more serious money consistently, I think the best way to do it is to become a video shopper. Jobs pay much better, shoppers are in higher demand, but there is some training involved, as well as investment (purchasing or renting equipment).

You go pay your money and have a good time. You line those shoppers pockets with info you could get for free, online. Have a good time. It's your $ to waste as you see fit.

Hi, back to shopping and recovering from my back and leg injury. Have been doing some phone shops to stay busy. Still trying to line up with a data entry or something similar to do at home that is legit. I know a company that outsources their billing to a company but don't know the company they use. I still have spinal surgery to go yet so need something to do from home to bring in money besides surveys. Any ideas? Thanks for the tips I have gotten - especially from Kim!
Hi Duffy,
I am new here sorry to hear about your injuries. How and where do you sign up for phone shops? Have you located the company's name that outsource their billing yet?
Thanks,
Miz L
Phone shop sources are usually companies shoppers keep very close to their chest. The reason is that many folks have free long distance, so it is no big issue to sit in Boston and do phone mystery shops in Southern California. There are a whole lot of jobs folks will share info on because it is likely you are not in direct competition with them for the work since you are not in their normal shopping area. Phone shops are not one of those things smiling smiley Sign up with a number of companies, do good work for them and the phone shops may come your way. I just had a company for whom I normally do on site visits give me $360 worth of phone shops to do over the next 3 months. None of the calls are in my area code.
