My name is Andrew Walker and my company just launched an iPhone application (coming soon on Android) that lets our Agents use their phones to perform incredibly accurate, real-time secret shopping assignments.

It's called iSecretShop and is available for download on iTunes today. It's free and it takes all the 'homework' out of secret shopping. The questions are all there on the phone and you can take pictures to prove your point: Messy table? Prove it with a pic. You can also use the phone's timestamp to prove how long to had to wait for a table, be greeted, etc.

And best of all, you hit Submit as you exit the location and the shop is complete - no more memorizing names and observations and going home to fill out long forms.

Who exactly would be paying us?

Oh, this is funny. I swear, I was actually just thinking about something like this last night! But the way this is being described makes no sense. There is no one generic form or instructions for all MSCs and shops.

@dee shops: We would be paying you. Our clients decide what compensation they want to offer - either cash, reimbursement, cash + reimbursement and/or a digital coupon pushed directly to the phone. The compensation offered is commensurate with the complexity level of the shop.

@nicelytwicely: We do not use one generic form. Every client we bring on works with us to develop a custom shop evaluation (or several custom shop evaluations) and when you accept an assignment through iSecretShop, that client-specific evaluation populates on the phone.

And to clarify - we do not have other MSC's using our app - we are a standalone secret shopping company. We are adding new clients as fast as we can and are in talks now with some very big players. It's been a long haul, but we are super excited that it's finally taken off!

Stop spamming us. You ignored the vital question-who is paying us for these supposed shops?

If you can't answer, or choose to avoid answering, the basic questions about your supposed "product", then this is either a scam or an unnecessary app you are hoping to sell more of by making shoppers think they can make money using it.

I apologize that I didn't answer your question adequately enough above. When I said, "We would be paying you," I meant precisely that. Our corporate clients pay us on either a monthly or per shop basis (depending on the program they select) and when registered iSS agents (our users) successfully complete and submit a shop, we will either cut the agent a check or push a digital coupon to their iPhone through the application (again depending on the program the client selected).

I genuinely apologize that you feel this is spam - but I can assure you 'spamming' you was not my intent at all. And we are most certainly not a scam. The parent company is called Apptivate ( [www.ApptivateLLC.com] ) and we develop smart phone applications both in-house and for business clients. iSecretShop is our newest property and yes, we are definitely trying to get people to download and register with us.

Our sales associates are also actively engaged in enrolling new businesses so that we can offer ever more secret shop opportunities to our users. We just signed up Max Muscle - a 150 store fitness and nutrition franchise - and the compensation they are offering is a digital Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) coupon with a $50 value that will appear on the phone and can be redeemed on the next visit.

The Max Muscle shop is a very simple, 23 question evaluation that involves virtually no effort to complete. It asks for 2 specific pictures to be taken, can be done in 5-10 minutes and is completed the moment you exit the store.

Again, please accept my most sincere apologies if I offended you in any way. This is not spam, this is not a scam, this is a new way of performing secret shops and I posted here with the intent of making your members and those who reference these forums aware of our application and giving them the opportunity to check it out.

This is NOT compensation for MSing. This is a deal for your "clients". It ensures continuing business. And they get a survey for free. I surely will not be using your app for my shopping. I *expect to be PAID* for my work, as I am sure you do as well.

Bogo's are everywhere nowdays. We are in a recession. Why would I do shopping assigments for something I can get for no work at all?
