Hello. I am freelancer, who has mostly done writing, editing, web content management and project management consulting for the last 7 years, but in an endeavor to get out of my bedroom (a.k.a. the home office) I've started doing what I'm labeling "gig work" outside of the house. I started out joining some mystery shopper sites a few years ago, but I found most of what they wanted me to do was either not really up my alley or required a bit too much acting (aka lying) for me to feel comfortable. But when I expanded into doing merchandising gigs (having been a full time merchandiser several years ago), I came across some gigs which are classified under "mystery shopping" but are more up my personal alley. I just recently took a few projects from Gigspot, looking for business-advertising vehicles parked overnight in local hotel parking lots, and inspecting hotel rooms for quality purposes.
I had a specific question I was running into, that I thought might be answered on a forum like this one, so I thought I'd pop in and see if this could be a good community and potential resource for my work.
Off-duty I also do some volunteer work for the National Kidney Foundation, the local blood bank and a few other non-profit groups on occasion. I also write and edit editorials, blogs, reviews, erotica, Wikipedia entries and screenplays. I love UK comedy and TV - especially panel and topical talk shows like QI, Have I Got (a Bit More) News For Your, As Yet Untitled and The Last Leg. I am also slightly addicted to audio books by my favorite writers and comedians - currently working my way through John Cleese's "So, Anyway..." I'm a singer, I do some voice over work and I am developing a staggeringly impressive Plex media server.
Oh, and I tend to be loquacious...
