Hello to All

I've been mystery shopping for awhile but only stumbled across this site a couple days ago. I was rather surprised that there was a legitimate site for us mystery shoppers out there to communicate. I came across a couple maybe a year or so ago but they weren't anything like this one. I have been very impressed with the wealth of information that has been posted on this site for newbies and even veterans. Happy shopping!!

Hello nuttyb54, glad you found this forum. It's a great place for shoppers to swap stories and share interesting tidbits. Hope you'll join in the fun here!
I have also just found this site. I have been mystery shopping Banks for several months now. I would really like to branch out into other areas. I did 3 banks yesterday & still have 1 more to do this week. I like the company I work for & the payments are paid on time to paypal. It gives me a little extra cash. Sometimes I get one with an extra bonus!
Welcome! Yes, bonus shops are always sweeter smiling smiley There are a lot of companies out there doing a lot of kinds of shops!
It is hard to wait for a shop to bonus in my area, the last couple times I have tried to do that they were snatched up... LOL just makes me aware that I have to be on my toes around here.
At the same time, if a shop is not worth doing for less than $10 there is no reason to grab it because it has been bonused to $9. While it may be frustrating that someone else snagged it, my mindset is that if they are that hungry they probably should be fed first. If they discover they really weren't that hungry, they won't be so greedy next time.

I suspect that a whole lot of the competition in my market does not last long because they decide that they just aren't getting paid enough to cover their expenses. Doing shops for less than they are worth will readily put you in that position.
I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Stevi White and I am in Canton, GA..a suburb of Atlanta. I just recently got into mystery shopping, where I shop over the phone and record the call and I really enjoy it and would like to do more. I hope that I can find more shops here.
Hello, steviwhite and welcome to the forum. It's hard to beat phone shops, no car expense and the dress code is informal!

I am finding that out by what I am reading in here. I had first signed up with Shadow Shoppers but they want you to pay for the different levels to start out. I kept thinking about it but did nothing. I then received a call from SassieShops. She somehow had found my name and offered a bank job in my town. I live in a smaller community (11,000 pop) and since you have to wait 180 days plus they need a wide group I guess. That is what I have found out that once I have done the banks closer to me, then what-- I have to go farther out & at $15.per it might not be worth it. All I get are bank shops. That is why I need to find other companies that do other shops. Just not sure where to find them or if they have jobs in my area. I see quite a few here in the area through Shadow Shopper but I'd have to sign into the pay program to find out about them. Don't know if that is what I should do. I am in a kind of rural area, big towns are 40-50 miles away.
Sign up with Jobslinger.com. There is a free section to the site. You can put in your zip code and define an area by miles you are willing to travel and get a reasonable idea of what companies are shopping your area. With an 11,000 population you will probably be travelling for 180 day bank shops, but I sure would ask for bonuses on them. Otherwise look around and nationwide chain stores are generally shopped. Market Force, Trendsource and other big name companies don't pay wonderfully well, but they do tend to have shops everywhere that has the nationwide chains.
