hi from Seattle

Hi, I'm relatively new to mystery shopping. I did a little bit about 15 years ago pre-computer age, and now I have done about two and a half months worth again. Wow, what a difference with being able to submit forms right away and upload receipts! Looking forward to getting to know you all. Thanks for letting me be here. Oh, and one question. Does anyone know how the companies can get away with not paying for 60 to 90 days? I just can't believe it. My favorite by far is BestMark because they communicate with me and I am used to their standards now, and they pay regularly every other week. Thanks again!

You get paid what you contract for. If you are willing to work for a company that pays in 60 or 90 days, that is your agreement with them. This is why we get so bent out of shape when 8 weeks turns into 17 weeks and you still have to chase payments. But there are plenty of reasonable companies to work with that pay as contracted and the exceptions you will read the screams on the forum.

So welcome back to shopping and welcome to the forum!
Thanks for your quick reply. I appreciate it! What are your favorite companies to work for, Flash?
They tend to be the ones I just finished a job for or just got paid for smiling smiley Right now I am very fond of Mintel, for whom I did a batch of shops last week that are likely to be paid this week and Trendsource, where I picked up some Business Verifications today. But then there are the guys who have restaurants and the guys who end up bonusing nicely in my area and the guys I picked up a dozen grocery stores from today for July. Over time you will find the companies that have shops you like in your area. For the most part my favorites are eclectic enough because they deal with clients local to my area as opposed to serving giant nationwide chains. I have identified about 30 companies out of the more than 200 I am signed up with who 1) have shops in my area, 2) are reasonable to work with and 3) pay in an acceptable time period. I am signed up with every company I can find because every year a few of my usual companies lose their local clients while other companies add clients in my area.
