Hi ya'll!

Good morning! Fairly new shopper (8 months in) here and I've only recently discovered this forum. I have read so many posts and have gained a ton of knowledge and tips to use in the future. I am shopping from the Central Arkansas area and if any of you have suggestions on any specific MSC to apply to, I'd really appreciate it. I currently shop for about 12 and can pick up maybe 10-15 shops per month. I have the time and ability to pick up more but the companies I use don't seem to have a lot of listings in this area.

Welcome! When I started I was in uch the same situation. What I did was to make myself sign up with 5 more MSCs on any day when I wanted shops but did not have any, or did not have enough to make it worthwhile to travel to them.

It was an investment in growing my MS business and it paid off very quickly. By about the 3rd month, I was getting more than enough email offers of shops so that I did not have to be constantly looking at job boards. within about 6 months I was able to decide which shops I preferred and ignore most of the offers that came my way. That is when I knew that I could stick with this for the long haul. I started in September 2005.

Good luck! Enjoy!

Hi Fishgirl, welcome! I am pretty new to this forum as well. Have been shopping for just a little over a year and it's been kind of fantastic. I get giddy over some of the shops. Some, not so much. 10-15 shops a month is just right for me, and that's how many you say you are doing. Some months I'll do 20, but usually no more than that. I like to keep it casual and very parttime so far. Have you gone to the volition site for names of companies? Otherwise, this forum has a Mystery Shopping Companies topic that has lots of information about specific MSCs. Best of luck to you!
There is also our list of mystery shopping companies at the bottom of each page of the forum. That will direct you to conversations about the companies as well as links to the company websites to register.

How do you become a member of volition forum? I've been trying for over a month. I tried signing up 4 different times and I never hear anything back.

One of the many reasons that a lot of folks are here and the Volition forum is almost dead is that they have made it very hard to sign up. In addition, it can be quite unfriendly.

On this forum, I find new posts every few minutes! At Volition, there may be several days between posts. So, this is really the forum of choice if you want timely information from engaged shoppers and schedulers.

Thanks. I like it here too. There is someone on the other forum that is from my area and I would love to pick his brain about some merchandising jobs, but I can't pm him because I'm not a member. Ah well, no point in trying to get in somewhere where they don't want me. Thanks for the info, @walesmaven!
