Introducing Myself from Chicagoland & Need your advice

Greetings Everyone, I have been conducting shops for several months now. I have done shops in the automotive industry, restaurants, audits, cellular stores, spa's, retail and things of that nature. My biggest challenge is organization when I have several shops in a given day. I did a spreadsheet that list the shop, address, pay & company since I work for several but that is not enough. I work full-time and do this for fun and extra cash. What types of systems do you use to stay organized as far as your calendars? What types of shops do you prefer? What is your biggest challenge?

Welcome to the forum! Lots of questions!! smiling smiley The absolute best system is one that feels fairly 'natural' to you or else you will not readily keep up with it. For some folks that is a paper calendar, for others it is a calendar they can access by their phone or internet. For me it is a spreadsheet that starts as a calendar of personal and business commitments. As personal items are done, they are just deleted. As shop commitments are completed the spreadsheet gets updated with mileage, actual amount of reimbursement to be received, dates of the job done and reported. Eventually the spreadsheet will be updated with when and amount of payment and the spreadsheet becomes a permanent business record.
Thank you so much for your words of wisdom! So far the spreadsheet has been the best resource for me too. Sorry for all the questions

Questions are good. I am just teasing you. Personal preferences with shops are just that. My preferences are for shops that have reimbursements for things I would purchase anyway--oil changes, groceries, restaurants--because I am not trying to put aside cash for a specific goal but rather preserve cash by letting shops cover expenses I would have anyway. I will do certain types of shops when I am doing research towards a purchase (eg flooring shops, cell phone shops, car shops, appliance shops). Because my background is in finance, I am always game for a bank shop. Because I hate clothes and shoe shopping, I am completely unwilling to do these unless the bonus is huge. I find perfumes annoying and don't use makeup, so someone else will take those long before the bonus got big enough to be worth my while.
