Welcome to the forum! I started with the mystery shopping part and when I started doing merchandising and trailer checks I found it was too much "red tape" to go through to get so little out of it 
Seriously, though, I pick up shops here and there and am no longer trying to set up routes. I pick up shops we can do together that my significant other enjoys, such as restaurant and movie shops. Tomorrow I have a grocery shop and a bank shop that will be quick and get me back home at a reasonable time to have time to spend with my goat mamas and their new kids. So a little time spent for pocket money and reimbursed purchases (grocery) to save money on the household budget. If there was a sudden urge to travel, I would try to find hotels to shop as well as restaurants for on the road shops.
