So I am a new Mystery Shopper. I work in UX and web development. I gotta say. I was pretty shocked when I saw how was behind the time, inefficient a lot of the actual operation of these tests is.
I have no idea what the average demographic of a mystery shopper is but I am guessing the people organizing things are bright,, intelligent individuals. But this shoptronics MobiAudit thing for USPS is totally amateur hour. The UI needs a lot of help. I'm surprised nobody is taking greater advantage of what an smartphone and smart watch, loaded to the brim with sensors. But actually shopmetrics is nearly as good as it gets.

These places send me my reset passwords in plaintext if I request it. I signed up for a trial of JobSlinger Plus... and I still can't get a push notification or RSS feed?
Literally they are paying humans to manually deal with people via emails and communicate back and forth just to see when I'd like to do something. Editors...
Why aren't these just in my OS's native calendar? It can support attachments, URLs, coordinates and addresses, reminders, determine if someone is busy at a certain time, invite them to a shop. Publish shops as events and set permissions for which users can see them, add themselves as an attendee, or request. Seriously, why aren't people doing this almost entirely in CALDAV and CARDAV?
And christ, I have to pay for SSO through SASSIE via JobSlinger Plus, but actually it's some kind of mess of scripts that try to synchronize and aggregate logins and profiles. They seem to run the platform themselves... what happened?
How the heck did this come to be? How are they in business? What's stopping Field Agent or something like it from just wiping the slate clean and doing the same thing, but better with less middlemen, schedulers, analysts? This looks prime to be UBER'd.

Please someone explain it to me and tell me this goes back to some 1993 Treaty and it expires next year and this is about stop being bizzaroworld.
