Hi Don. Welcome to the forum! Let me encourage you to edit your post to take out your email address as this is an open, public forum and there are a lot of crazies and spammers out there.

As to your question, I am not in Connecticut but would encourage you to register with the companies on this forum's "Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies". You will find with the list that there are also links to discussions about these companies. To succeed at this business (and it is a business) you need to register and check for yourself what is available. A shopper in your area may not even see shops you see based on your writing sample when you register and on your particular demographics.
Welcome Don. You should edit your past and remove your email address to save being the victim of lots of spam and scams.

The New Mystery Shoppers section has lots of good information for starting and growing your business. In addition, there is a list of close to two hundred companies you can link at the bottom of each page. Shoppers in your geographic area may be disinclined to provide you a list of companies with jobs. Most feel they have worked hard and done the research and it would not behoove them to turn it all over to the competition.

Hi Don,

I'm in CT and have found that there are quite a few MSCs who have work in our state. The way to find out about them is to do what the rest of us have done -- sign up with a lot of different MSCs. As you've no doubt noticed, none of us will just tell you which ones to sign up with because we've all done that work for ourselves. But the advice from the others is dead on. Look at the official list of companies, read at least some of the discussions about them (so you can get a feel as to whether others think they're good or awful to work with) and then sign up with as many of them as you want.

I will say that in CT there are opportunities to shop several fast casual burger chains, most of the big banks and regional banks, and some of the credit unions, technology stores, car dealerships, a variety of supermarket chains, lots of retail, automotive services (tires, oil changes, brakes), furniture stores, mobile phone providers, fast food restaurants, high end restaurants, bars, hotels, etc etc. In other words, a lot of variety depending on your zip and how far you want to travel.

Best of luck!
