Brand Spanking New!

Hello all,
I am brand new to mystery shopping... I go on my very first shop on Thursday... I'm a little nervous. It s an auto shop. I don't need to do a test drive or anything to difficult. Does anyone have any tips for new nervous shopper?

Don't worry. Make sure you know any time points you are to observe as well as any other things, such as descriptions etc. For a first shop, make a cheat sheet to remind you of what you are to do/see. Put it in your pocket or purse and at some point excuse yourself to the restroom to make notes and then go out and collect what you haven't gotten yet. Take pictures with your phone 'of the car' of course but including anything else you might need to recall people, signage and such later.

I can promise you that you will come out swearing that 'they know' you are the shopper. Don't panic, people do strange things all the time so, "If they ain't used to weird they ain't worked there long."

Welcome Anna Marie,

Yes, a cheat sheet of those observations that are going to be difficult for you to remember is perfect. After you go though the guidelines until you know them, make the cheat sheet. Then re-read the guidelines. You can also put the cheat sheet on your cellphone if you like. Perhaps an email to yourself, or a memo. What ever makes the most sense to you. Then re-read the guidelines.

Am I repeating myself. Yes, I am. Practice makes perfect. smiling smiley
