coming back to mystery shopping

It's been like 20 years since I did mystery shopping. Mostly I did fast food restaurants because I wound up getting free food, a bachelor's favorite thing. I think I stopped when I had to move to another town and just did not take it up again. But now I am back to being self-employed and hoping to get back into the swing of mystery shopping, particularly on food companies. But it seems the climate of mystery shopping has changed so much in my absence that I almost don't know what to do anymore, or which companies are hiring mystery shops in my area (panhandle of Florida). I was hoping this forum would help. Particularly since I got burned on my first mystery shop in years by what was obviously a disreputable company. (I know now.)

Welcome to the forum!

Although I have been shopping only 7 years, from what I read the industry has changed a great deal in the last 20 years. The forum will indeed help you. Consider the resources for new shoppers in the stickies in the 'new members' section. Also the Mystery Shopper Magazine has some articles that break it down as well.

Welcome and good luck!

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
