advice needed

hey!!!

I just received a check from a supposed mystery shopping company and was told to cash it in and go to various places as mentioned in an email. How do I know if this check is legitimate and that I am not being involved in some sort of scam?

It is a scam. No legitimate MS company sends money in this manner, nor do they send money to people upfront, nor do they pay as well as these scammer pay. DO NOT attempt to cash it. Report it to the authorities.

Just always think things thru. Who would pay you before you completed a job?????? Also look at the job boards of the various legitimate companies. Volition is the best source, I think, of legitimate companies. Nearly everyone of them warn you about this scam. Please always question in your own mind. If it sounds too good to be true - it probably is. Mystery shopping is fun but it isn't a pushover - you do have to work to get paid.
Good luck.

Sure hope you have not cashed that check yet. Chances are very good that it will be charged back to your account by your bank as for sure it will be a phony.

Be careful of these and as duffymoon2 said, " If it sounds too good to be true, it is. If I had all the money from phony lotteries that I have won that are waiting to be delivered to me if I only gave them my bank account number for a fund transfer, I could probably bail out Obama. Well ..........probably not.
