I'm a newbie and have my first shop assigned for Monday. So excited! This profession will be a great fit for me I think because I travel for work anyway, so it opens up lots of places to do shops!

Thinking about getting the cert because I am new and I think it would help me learn more. Any thoughts?

If you are asking about MSPA certification, there are quite a few lengthy threads on the forum on that subject. Many shoppers opine that it isn't necessary. They built their businesses without that assistance and now have track records with many so that they don't need certification to stand out from the crowd. However, many companies prefer MSPA certification. That would help you get shops as a new shopper.

There are arguments both ways. I think it comes down to what is best for your situation.
