I've always been interested in Mystery Shopping positions but didn't know where to start. I'm reaching out to the Mystery Shopping community out there for your help. I would love to receive your expert advise regarding where to start. Even though I'm new (no opportunities to date) I know there may be issues that one my want to avoid. I'm eager to start and I'm a reliable hard working person and this would be perfect for me. I look forward to hearing from my fellow Mystery Shoppers and I thank you in advance for any help.

Hi, actingout, welcome to the forum. Check out the New Mystery Shoppers area and read as much as you can here on the forum.

All the information you need to set up and begin your mystery shopping small busines is here. It's set up as a learn-as-you-go, work-at-your-own pace process. The startup is very time-consuming. You will spend a lot of time reading so you can understand how mystery shopping works and researching and planning and setting up your business. Then you will register with companies (see the list below!), providing your personal information and SS#. Some of the companies will want you to provide a writing sample or take tests.

Very time-intensive. Don't get discouraged. Plan to spend a lot of time in preparation before you start making any money. You'll spend a lot of time sorting through jobs to decide which ones are "worth it" to you and finding companies that have assignments in your area. When you do start getting assignments, most will not be quick, easy, fast, or fun. And most will not pay very much money.

The OP said they were from Las Vegas, not Atlanta. Don't you have to sign up to be a PI to do shops in Las Vegas? There may be more to it.

Kim
You don't have to sign up to BE a PI; you do have to become an employee of one or more of the very few MSCs that hold NV PI licences and do all of the legal NV shops. This involves applying for a "sherrif's card," and having a background check, as I seem to recall. NV shoppers are not ICs. There is a large fine for doing MS in NV without going through the proceedures required there.

For details, search "Nevada" and "all dates."

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
You're right, Kimmie, I didn't read too good ...... he would have to be a direct employee of a PI firm to work in Nevada.
