This forum is a lifesaver!

Hello all!

My name is Kat and I just recently started doing my research on mystery shopping. I was so relieved to see a forum for all the mystery shoppers out there. Worried at first of scam I made sure to cover my "butt" and dig a little deeper into finding the actual companies. Although I have some knowledge now, reading posts on this forum I've now realized I still have A LOT to learn! I've started to sign up with a few companies..(yes no where near 100....yet!) and I've found my biggest dilemma is how to find MSCs that partner with companies around my area...when I find some in Maryland they're mostly in Baltimore and Annapolis. Unfortunately I'm in Hagerstown, MD. I'm closer to PA and WV than I am Baltimore (what a shame).

Anyhoo if anyone had any tips for me that would be great!!

Thanks so much!
Kat

Welcome, Kat, we're glad you found us! I'm in Texas but years ago, I lived in Severna Park, just north of Annapolis. Wish I'd been MSing in those days - I see a lot of shops available in that area!
Kat,
Because you live in a less densely populated area, you may have the most to gain by signing up with a ton of MS companies (MSCs). This is because shops in small towns and along some stretches of Interstate highways can have big bonuses becasue they may be hard to fill. Be sure to check that you want emails from the MSCs with which you register. SW PA, the northern neck of MD, WV, and even eastern OH can be turned into good MS hunting grounds once you make that big up front time investment to sign up with lots of MSCs.

Also, as you read the forums, be on the lookout for posts about the best methods for being effcient in that sign-up process and in organizing your searches. You may want to start by reading all of the first 11 threads over in the NEW Mystery Shoppers area.

Welcome! Enjoy!

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Welcome Kat! I haven't shopped in your area in a long time, but I have in the past. My ex lives Chambersburg, PA and I used to do some shops in that area when I had to transport the (now grown) kids to the area. There were always plenty of shops to choose from.
Hi Kat,

Signing up for the bigger ones (look at the list on the forum - the ones talked about more are bigger) and checking jobslinger or prestomobile can get you go in the right direction.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
Wow! Thank you all for the information! I'll be sure to signup with as many companies as I can!
