Hello!

Hi, all! I have doing mystery shopping for about 5 years, but I have decided to get serious about it. Previously, I just shopped for a couple of companies, and just a handful of shops a year. Now I really want to increase my volume. I have been signing up for a lot of companies, but I am having trouble finding companies that have shops available in the area where I live. I live in the Southeast in a mid-sized town, not really close to a major city at all. A few companies have shops that I have been doing, but is there a good way to find out if shops are available in your area before signing up? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

There is lots of information here to be found. Have a look. As for your question, there isn't a great way to find out if they have shops in your area before applying, but there are a few things you can do. First, try the larger ones (hint: the more discussion on the forum - the more shops they likely have. The top 15 most discussed list will help.) Second, try Jobslinger or Prestomobile.com. They both use the same data, which is the 70 or so Sassie companies to display shops by geographic area. Next, you could ask the companies directly. But know things change with time.

Good luck.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
You could check the MSPA Web site. They have an option where you could look for available assignments in your area. (You enter the search parameters, such as a mileage range from a given zip code, etc.) I actually did that myself earlier today, because, like yourself, I am trying to pick up more work as well. Good luck!
