Hi everyone. I am retired and looking for something part-time to supplement my social security. A friend has been mystery shopping for quite some time and loves it. So ave signed up for a few mystery shopping websites. I am very skeptical about giving out my social security number. My friend said she never gave her social out. I wonder if someone can give me some feedback on this and also which mystery shopping websites are better than others.

Thanks for any light anyone can shine on this for me to make me a little more comfortable. Thanks again.

I'm not sure how your friend has been getting many mystery shops without providing some type of tax ID number. The key is to be sure you are registering with a legitimate company on a secure website.

Hi Beachgirl and welcome to the wonderful world of retirement. and......what do I do now...LOL :-D
So, Secret Shopping is like any other business. You have to do your due diligence. Join several shopping companies to figure out which ones work for you and your special circumstances.
I have found this board to be very helpful in learning the ins and outs of secret shopping.

There are other things you can do from home to earn some extra $$ like joining survey companies. The more you put yourself out there, the more opportunities you will find. Be sure to look at specific shop requirements to see if what is being offered is truly worth the effort to give what is being asked for.
