Welcome. smiling smiley

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
Hi, just getting started with Mystery Shopping, I signed up for this about 3 years ago and did nothing. Well I tried to do something, my computer had to be wiped out and everything I had read, and signed up for was gone. I was so frustrated with it all. I was a Personal Shopper for Neiman Marcus for 10 years and loved it but had foot surgery and could not continue. I would love to work at my own pace, I travel with my Husband a good bit so being able to work my own schedule would be great. I feel I would be good at this if I could just get started. I need to start all over and learn. I would appreciate any help you all could give me. I now live in San Diego Ca. This would be a great part time job for me. Thank so much, excited about getting started again.
Hello every one. I am new to Mystery shopping but have just done 10 shops for CallcenterQA. Do any one know of good strickly telephone only mystery shoppers company? I like to sign up.

Hello everyone!! I have only been doing this mystery shopping for about six months. I am astonished to learn how many companies are out there needing shoppers. I worked for Sprint transportation for thirteen years. In their customer service area. I am amazed I had never heard of this kind of thing. I am r really excited to also find this forum!! They say you learn something new everyday. This should keep me form learning every day for the next year.
Happy to talk to everyone.
Hi everyone! I just started with mystery shopping and haven't had any assignments yet. I'm looking forward to chatting with ya'll. I'm hoping to make this a lucrative adventure here and all over the country. Has anyone made this their full time gig? Any insight or mentoring is welcome.

Thanks!
Welcome to Mystery Shop Forum, Mikkishinesmiling smiley A minority of shoppers translate this into a full-time gig. It is possible, if you are willing and able to travel, and spend nights away from home. Alternatively, shopping can be a boon to the bottom line, as a part-timer who wants to sleep in their own bed each night.

Hello and welcome to forum! I have been mystery shopping full time for a year and love it. For me, the best part is being my own boss and accepting only the shops I want to do. If I want to take a day or days off, I do it and do not have to answer to anyone. Take the time and read through this forum. There is a wealth of information available here. Have fun shopping!

Hi All,

I just performed my first two shops and got 10's on both. I know to not expect that to be the norm after reading the posts on this great forum!

A Questions: Who sees the "companies I am registered with" section? Are there pros and cons of registering?

Thank you to all who contribute to this Encyclopedia of Mystery Shopping!

Shopping Central Jersey Shoreline. WHAT? I'm an adult?! When did this happen?! How do I make it stop?!
I recently join the Mystery shopping business and looking for opportunities in Toronto, Canada. I do know how it works since I was in retail for many years. I notice there are not a lot of opportunities, anyone can recommend companies for me to apply to.

Thank you
Welcome to the forum, marvathibou. There are a lot of mystery shoppers, and many shoppers face a lot of competition for a limited number of shopping assignments in their area. The most time-consuming part of MSing is researching and building and maintaining a MS client list. Many shoppers invest a significant amount of time in this research, so their lists are valuable. Most do not share their lists with others who live in their area, because it then increases the already-stiff competition.

Visit the new shopper area for how-tos and register with at least 50-100 of the companies in the list at the bottom of the page. Many of us are registered with 150 or 200. Check out Jobslinger for some companies in your area. Plan to work hard and spend a lot of time getting started and getting your list set up.

If you are speaking about that section here in the forum, there is no benefit to you to click on if you are registered or not. It's only for reference - It does not sign you up with any companies. You would be better off keeping track of what companies you sign up with yourself on a spreadsheet. That way you can customize it to your needs.

Hey everyone I have been mystery shopping since June and just now thought about looking for a forum, and I found this one! I have enjoyed mystery shopping so far and wish I had discovered it years ago! I'm excited to be able to have conversations with like minds and share experiences.
Thanks Kimmiemae,

I am a new shopper and am learning something new every day from all of you here.

I saw another members post about creating an extremely detailed excel spread sheet. He was very generous to share the information.

This forum rocks!

I have only done two shops. Both shipping. Both rated 10! Beginners luck? Thanks to this forum, I know not to expect 10's across the board in the future...hahaha!

Thanks Again

Hello Everybody.
I hope we are all having a great day.
I have been Shopping now for the past 15 years, and I love it. At times it gets crazy, but its a blast.
Remember to always Smile.
Hi,
I am new to the forum and not talented with the computer. Are there any MS companies out there that allow you to fax receipts and pictures in instead of scanning? I enjoy reading the comments that are posted, but the messages re grades and scores seem a bit scary. Any suggestions and encouragement will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hi Wuttheheck,

Although you may find some companies that still accept faxing it may be more advantageous to brush up on your computer skills. Many of the shops will require photo resizing and uploading. Companies all have different platforms that interacting differently with your computer which will make it difficult for you to view and print requirements. I am not trying to discourage you simply thought investing the time in some free online computer training might work best.
