Hello From GA

Hi All!

I'm Jo from GA. By profession I am a realtor/apprasier for this state. Things are pretty slow so I thought I would check into the MS forum to see if it is something I'd like to do. My writing skills and eye for details as an appraiser, I think, would serve me well. We are a retired airline family which gives me the ability to fly anywhere I would need to go. I bring that up because I'd like to pursue MSing for hotels, spas and perhaps cruise lines or anything else that would require me to travel. Any suggestions on companies I should check out? I looked into the Coyle Hospitality Group's website, but before I sign up, I thought I'd ask this group since I've already seen some great tips from everyone.
Thanks!

I'm signed up with Coyle but they have never had anything in my area. I did a bunch of hotels, resorts and spas for Freeman and the reports were long narratives and many interactions you needed to instigate. I enjoyed them even though most of them were for a single evaluator (a few were for couples). Until they get their financial situation squared away I cannot recommend them as payments have run 6-9 months. Supposedly the hotels and resorts back out the charges in a week to ten days and it used to be that if they didn't Freeman would stand behind getting you reimbursed. I have no idea about the status of that now. But they always arranged for and paid the airline tickets for remote destinations. I don't think Coyle does that but rather expect you will only apply for jobs in their area or that are covered by their reimbursement.
I have never been accepted by Coyle. I am not sure if they don't like my writing sample or they have nothing in HI, or have enough people to cover HI. I hear from V that they require ***very extensive reports*** for FD before they let you do anything other than that.

My advice: Try the easier and lower paying shops before starting to tie up your own funds waiting for someone to reimburse. In this economy, I would not do a reimbursed hotel or cruise shop for anyone. The risk is too great.
