Use of Shopper Org FEINS

Hi!
I just joined because I want to know your experiences with these FEIN numbers.
Here is what I have learned so far:
Do you know any of the shopper orgs FEIN numbers?
Please list them on this forum.
It would be a tremendous resource for any shopper.
A lot of companies aree reluctant to give their numbers out, and I suspect there is a reason for that.
Others will give you theirs just upon asking, and those tend to be very good companies to work for, in my personal experience.
They can be used to discover which orgs are in good standing or having trouble.
I have previously used them to justify my work pay and make sure
the org and I agree on the income.
Is there a directory listing somewhere for FEINS ot their state equivalents?

The FEINS are the big ones.
You can search by name in any secretary of state business search to find your org if your have questions about them
Shoppers do have a right to protect themselves, just as any consumer does.

I am signed with over 60 orgs and have only 20 or so of these numbers.
They don't change and this is how the IRS identifies them for tax purposes.
It can be a good defense for a shoipper with a dispute.
How do you feel about this?

I have never asked for a FEIN and fail to see how it would be helpful. Generally you can look up a business with the state in which they are doing business. This generally does not give you a whole lot of information except who the principals are.

Most of these companies are privately held so are not subject to public disclosure of their financials.

You will not do enough work with many companies to receive 1099s from them--and if you have done that much work the chances are that you are convinced already that they are legitimate.

A far more telling way to find out about companies are to use WHOIS.net to find out about who the website belongs to and when it was registered. Then use the search features on the various mystery shopper forums to see what the experience is with the company of other shoppers. Some folks check the BBB though I find drops in BBB ratings are much slower than input from fellow shoppers. Then of course you can see if they are members of the MSPA, though many quality companies are not.

I fail to see how knowing the FEIN is a defense for a shopper with a dispute.

I have found through FEINS how well a company is doing.
Thus I can expect more or little work.
I have found the willingness of a company to offer it is a that they do well by the people they hire. I would definitely be suspicious of a company wih something to hide, wouldn't you?

Also the web creators and designers of thw webpage a retypically hirees of the company, not their owners, as are the shopper login pages. These are separate
programs from the company site and are not necessarly direct contact with the company unless contact is mentioned.

FEINS are the quickest and easiest since all of them pay federal taxes. IT identifies the legal standiing of a company and makes you sure of who you are disputing, if you have one. There is no hiding from the FEINS.

Ok. I think you are making this all too difficult, but if it works for you, go for it.

It is easier than following the web morass out there.
Web sites change at a moments notice, I've counted ten over the last
coule of years. They can suspend at any time. At least with a fein you know
who you can talk to if you need something from them.
That's all I'm saying. It's the quickest way to the source.
I would never use a FEIN or give it out willy nilly without
the shopper orgs permission. I generally love this work.
It's just hard to get in tpouch with them sometimes.
And this has been quick and worked very well for me.

Sorry. I just did my taxes, and this was on my mind...My name is 4Ka and I have completed over 1,000 shops for over 60 orgs. I am new to this forum and find it one of the best sign-ups I've ever done. I live in FL but am visiting SC and it is great to be able to work from state to state like this. The availability of work has been about equal, which is a great relief since I am used to doing these shops almost by muscle memory alone!
