Ugh, what happens if you cancel a shop with MF?

I accepted a "photo audit" not really knowing what all was involved, I'm having anxiety about doing this now that I have studied it well and see what all is involved. And all for $10. I know it is really bad to cancel a shop, but my anxiety over this is not good either, lol.

What happens if you cancel a shop you've accepted? I've so far completed everyone I've accepted from all MSC's.

Also...I've read where MF and Bestmark now share info and I do a lot of shops for Bestmark, please keep that in mind in your response.

Thanks!

I would explain that you are a fairly new shopper and are overwhelmed by all the things involved in the shop so feel you really need to cancel it until you are much more experienced. I would not state anything at all about the small pay, just mention your own anxiety. Apologize for feeling you must cancel. On their website is a Reschedule/Cancel section so you can do this yourself on the website. I believe there is a explanation box and that is where I would mentioned that as a new shopper you found you had bitten off more than you were comfortable handling.

As for sharing with Bestmark, Bestmark posted "*Additional Note: No shopper information was exchanged as a part of this initiative and each company emailed its own respective database of shoppers. Neither company shared (nor is it their policy to ever share) private shopper information with any outside entity." So I would not be concerned about backroom whispers.
I had to cancel a shop with MF and nothing happened. As far as this particular assignment I have done several of these for MF and they are not too bad. I usually wait until they get bonused a little bit but onsite and reporting can be done in under an hour.

Interesting coincidence. I got a call from a MF scheduler today offering me $40 a pop for two shops that are usually $15 each. She said something to the effect that I was considered a very top shopper, and that she could see that I had once canceled a similar shop, so wanted to be sure that I would be comfortable doing these. So, I guess that one cancelation will not kill your chances of earning a very good rating.

And, yes, I assured her that the cancelation was because I had overbooked myself and did not have to do with any aversion to the type of shop.

I am wondering if MF has done some retraining recently. Never before have I had calls (and many calls this month) from schedulers there offering me additional shops, pretty much on my preferred schedule, and mostly with bonuses.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I don't know about retraining, walesmaven. I'm wondering if perhaps their algorithm threw out too many shoppers. I too have been getting calls from them of late and it is shops that have only a day or left to run on them but did not show up on their job board.
I actually cancelled two bank shops where I had to pretend to have xxx amount of money. I didn't feel comfortable in lying to pretend I had xxx amount of money, so I cancelled the shops. I was very nervous about cancelling. And then I cancelled another shop two minutes after I had accepted because I didn't realize that I had to be a contractor after I read the guidelines. I haven't noticed any repurcusions in cancelling three shops total. But I wouldn't make a habit of cancelling shops.
Hi, I wanted to post an update to my original post. I did not have any repercussions after canceling the shop. I sent an email in explaining how I did not feel comfortable as a new shopper...anyway, they actually sent me an email back thanking me for letting them know.
Good news!

Heads up though - shoppers have reported both two and three-strikes you're out, unannounced deactivation.
Do they let you know when they deactivate you?

Right off I can't think of any company that proactively lets you know you have been deactivated. With most you just suddenly can't log in anymore. With the MF blue portal you can log on but you can't schedule shops. That link just disappears.
